My rig is set to get here sometime tomorrow and I can’t wait!

Question in the meantime: What do you recommend I use to connect the Magellan 800 to the two 12-3s?

I have used Markbass combos for years, so this is new territory for me. I read through the Magellan manual and it says that two Neutrik connectors are included, but I assume I’ll need double that for two cabs. Should I just buy preassembled cables? What do you guys use? What length?


Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear this up for me. I want to get all my ducks in a row so I don’t have to be shopping around tomorrow during football!

Speakons all the way!!! 1 to each cab!
I have one 3’ and one 6’ speakon cable

you can also use two shorter ones also and daisy chain them

Joey is at 2ohms, I'm not familiar but maybe it's because of his 4x10 & 15.

For two 12-3's the setting is of course at 8ohms. Should you desire to run three 12-3's or three 10-2's you can flip the switch to 2 ohms.

Just wanted to say that just because you see two speaker cables plugged in does not necessarily mean there are two cabinets plugged in or that that the ohm selector switch should be on 2 ohms or 8ohms for two cabs. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Someone mentioned daisy chaining and you could daisy 2 or 3 cabinets and only use a single speaker out on the amp.

Phew.. there must be a cable shortage or something. I had to go to 3 music stores before I found any speak-ons <25ft and the only two shorties were speak-on to 1/4”. Luckily the guy had some adapters in the back he gave me free of charge. They’re both 3’ so I’ll probably daisy-chain.


Should be all set for arrival tomorrow, that is, if Fedex doesn’t let me down like they normally do.

That's frustrating. USPS did this to me last night with my Nate Navarro book.

Not to mention us and all of our neighbors were outside until 10 o'clock last night with the kids running around playing... lucky for them they're closed today.

The USPS in my town has never let me down and I usually get stuff early, but I know that varies by area.

I would be less upset if the site I ordered from didn’t advertise a “order in [# of hours] and receive by [date] –then they use FedEx lol.
