I've been a Genz Benz and now, Genzler fan for years. I've lost count of how many amps and cabs of his that I've owned over the years, starting with the Shuttles and Streamliners and Uber cabs, and now Magellans and Bass Array cabinets. And their service has always been great (not that I've needed much over the years, the products are all really solid).

A few weeks ago, I posted on TB in the Genzler Amplification Club about an issue I had been having with a gig bag for my Magellan 350/10-2 combo not fitting properly, basically being hard to close. I wanted to see if anyone had experienced this, or if they had any ideas for workarounds.

Not 2 hours later I got an email from Jeff Genzler, asking about the problem seeing what he could do to help. Mind you, I hadn't reached out to Jeff or tagged him in the post. I described it to him and sent him a few photos and he straight-up offered to send me a new one at no cost to me.

Jeff is always ever-helpful on Talkbass and he may well be embarrassed that I'm doing this, but @Jeff Genzler, thank you for making great products and for standing behind everything that you do 100%.

He called me out of the blue on a Saturday morning to talk about a buzz I had going on. Beyond customer service.

I’ve been working on combining my smaller boards into an “every” board and I thought I was done a couple days ago until I realized I had a little extra room to stick my Genzler foot switch on there.

This is one of those Warwick Rock Boards with the modules so you can see everything is plumbed to a central connection module in the back of the board to keep things tidy. I have a couple plug in/exit points along the signal path in case anything craps out live. I also have two 1/4” inputs left in the module if I decide to run something in the effects loop of the amp in the future. You know, like the next Genzler pedal? I left a little room for it when it inevitably comes along. :thumbsup:

I run gain at 12 oçlock, curve blue at 12, bass 12, mid 2, midsweep 8, treble 11.

Played a gig last night using my MG 350/12T-V. We played this room a few times pre-Covid and for those I used the MG350/BA 10-2 combo. I must say the 12T-V provided more punch and a thicker, fuller tone.

Gig went well; Bass & Amp sounded great, my vocals were on, and the fish and chips were excellent. The only down side was I was sandwiched between the guitar and drums. Too tight. And I prefer the guitar further away from my eardrums. Fortunately we didn't get into a volume war. Blend was actually superb.View attachment 4402043

How do you think a BA 10-2 would do on top of a 12T-V? Better than a BA-10-2 with a BA12-3? Or close enough to make no difference?

that chest pound actually comes from low mids -,I think around 100hz. If you have a looper it’s easier but … dial in your contour how you like it. Set your mid boost around 3 o clock and play with your mid frequency till the right bits feel it lol.

back off the boost to taste.

it goes without saying some volume will be necessary to actually dial it in.

I think it sounds great. Like all my Genzler cabs do. Better is so subjective. The BA 10-2 sounds good with either the 12T-V or the 12-3. Stacks much better on the 12-3 though. Sound difference the BA 12-3 may edge out the 12T-V (each with the 10-2), but I’ll need to fiddle about a little more to come up with a descriptive response.
@RColie; can you comment. My experience is solo studio fun play, you’re is live band action. I’d be curious to get your take. Thanks

I have tried the BA112/BA110-2 combination as well as the combination of a separate 12” cab (not the12T-V) with the BA110-2. IMO the most differential/consideration would be the horn versus array differential.
We know that (generically) a line array can cover an increased dispersion angle and that in these Genzler Array based products, that is additive (SPL) by the increased number of paper cone drivers. So one would ask themselves if they prefer the crispness of a horn for mid/high or the properties of an array of paper cone drivers including the dispersion characteristics of an array.
