I can’t imagine this being much of an issue since the array still lines up in a vertical plane as designed.

May be a little overkill but the I/O flexibility for 2 instruments is extensive.

Which has the better low end the MG212t or the NU212t I’m asking because I’m ready to buy, but I don’t want to get stuck with something I won’t like. I have two Genze Benz focus 112 cabinets and love the sound, I also have Hartke HX 210 and 115 and I like them also.I’m trying to go lLightweight with full sound. I play R & B, Jazz and 90s Pop.

I think one question you may ask yourself is, do you prefer neo or ceramic drivers. I believe either cab will deliver “low end”. But we all do have our preferences for sound.

Judging by specs alone:

MG-212T - Frequency Response 33-14KHz
NC-212T - Frequency Response 45-14KHz

Personally, after using a pair of MG-112T-V's (Frequency Response 40-14KHz), I found I preferred the tone and low-end extension of the NC-212T better. While the specs indicate that the 112's could reach lower, the NC had better lows, tone, and response where it mattered for my playing. ie. Country band with plenty of B string work.

Go listen to some demos on the Genzler Youtube page to see which tonal palatte you prefer.

The MG-212T is a larger box with more extended lows but perhaps the NC-212T has more focused lows which sound better in a live mix.

My experience is the NuClassics have a better perceived low end. Could be the mids are more relaxed and that is how it sounds to my ear. The NuClassics sounds great.

@woody357 ---Thanks for using our gear, present and past. I would just comment thatn if you have the older GB FocusLT 12" cabs and you like them, then I think you'll really like the NC-212T cab as your choice. The NU CLASSIC series somewhat of an updated FOCUS series designed for more of what today's players require. The 212 does have a "biggness" in the low end and as some have mentioned, the mids are a little smoother and more relaxed than you would have with the Magellan series of cabs. That is one of the difference in the voicing of the NC speakers against the MG designs. Hope this info is helpful.

Thank you very much. You are right, I really like the Focus cabinets I use them more than anything else I have. I’m really looking forward to getting it. I was on the fence about which one would serve me best but with your added input that settled it for me. Thank you again!!!!

What if you just back down the active boost knobs a little on the Sadowsky preamp (the bottom stacked knobs) that’s what I do and found it sounds great still and is a similar output to another bass.

Sounds so good. This rig could easily handle a small to medium gig for sure! Punch, Clarity and a nice tight Low End!

So it has been six years since the Magellan bass heads where introduced. Granted they have been highly successful but might be time for a refresh. For my needs it would be great to see two band mids like in the old Shuttle Max series in place of the drive section. Most players have their favorite drive pedals on their boards. In my opinion the pre amp on the Shuttle Max was one of the best ever.

The re/q is indeed a nice piece of gear but for me having parametric high and low mids gives me much more variability in sculping my tone. Alot of player don't want to be bothered with or understand how a parametric tone stack works but once you do you will realize how broad they are. It would also be nice to see a HPF in this new dream head of mine.
