For a local cash deal I'll do better than what it's listed at. Unless I come to my senses tonight and pull the ad.
If you do go with the Berg setup, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. I considered this also but I couldn't hear one locally. My local shop had the Genz so that's how I went...
I have a question I have no experience with Genzler or GB ( yet!)
I'm looking for a different flavor head to substitute with my Mesa D800.
Will the Magellan 350 through an 8 ohm aggie slx410 be enough thump/clarity to hang in small clubs 100-300 people with a live drummer (assuming no PA support worst case). Moderate to louder stage volumes.
Id love to save money since I dont need thevtwo channels on the mag 800!!

Probably not, unless your drummer is very quiet. Get the 800, it's nice to have more horsepower.

I would jave to agree. If you had a 4 ohm 410 then we could probably be having a different discussion. The Magellan 350 has been surprising users with how big it sounds for such a small package but your requirements lend me to think you'd be on the edges of it's capabilities.
I do think tje MG 800 would give you that different flavor you're looking for.
Just used my MG800 at the big band rehearsal today... through an ampeg810 (sorry sacrilege!), but the mg800 kicked butt!!! (didn't like the a810, but it was still usable)....
and I agree with everyone here, the MG350 is great for small stuff if used at 8Ω, but it kicks at 4Ω!

OK, I think that weighing all factors that I want to go Genzler for a new rig. I want to get as close as I can to my IEM/FOH tone and the Bass Line Array should get me close. I mean, FOH is line Array so...
Now, maybe Jeff will chime in. I have been using a Shuttle 3.0-10T with a 110 extension cab. I always use both cabs - even when practicing at home - to get as full a sound as I can. When I play in a jazz trio or quartet outside for art fairs and stuff, it works, but I have it pretty maxed out and on the verge of not sounding good. I like the ease of the combo. Grab and go. That said, the MG 800 isn't that big and neither is a BA12-3 cab.
So, should I get the 350 combo and another BA10-2 cab or as I'm hauling too cabs, get an 800 head and BA12-3 and bring one cab? Will one cab be enough? I don't do many gigs with an amp. I do practice with one and I know that either would be enough in my basement.
What should I do? I want the B string on my Roscoes to really sing and I'm not sure even a pair of 10's will do that - unless the new ones are way louder then the previous.

I think this decision comes down to the form factor that you prefer.
The new MG350 COMBO and BA10-2 will certainly handle your bass and B string. We used a Sadowsky NYC 5 String amomg otjers in decelppment and the combo by itself handles the B string ...within reason. The stack would be that much stronger for louder/larger stages.
The MG800 and BA12-3 for a single cab will do all that you require and certainly the 12" is going to have more depth for your B string to "sing".
Either rig will provide charity, definition and dispersion that will project you tone im ways you'll enjoy and appreciate.....due to the BASS ARRAY concept.
The MG800 will be a great match with a single BA12-3.

I agree that the MG800 is more applicable to a full rock gig. Although the MG350 is fine for many applications, smaller gigs and rehearsal, the 800 just gives one plenty of headroom for Rockin in the Free World (pic is while playing Rockin in the Free World)
That Cirrus is great! I have the same one circa 2000 USA super low, great player!

Too bad you were using the "wrong" bass!
ha ha. I was too sweaty to play the new NG2. I have had the USA Cirrus since Peavey first came out with them. I used to live an hour from the factory and had connections. Peavey treated me like one of their endorsed rock stars even though I was not. Any time I needed a setup or ANYTHING, their artist specialist met me at the door and adjusted my bass, put on a new neck, or anything I wanted. Still to this day it is my go to bass.
