I'm not even involved in any way but am amazed by his service mentality. This bloke is a treasure!
So I got my 15-3 SLT… so many good things to say about these cabs.
Stand-alone, the cabinet sounds great. Obviously it has more low end than my 12-3 SLT. But it’s also very clear and articulate for a 15 cab.
Combined with the 12-3, wow! The way the bottom end extends has left me extremely satisfied. You get another 17 inches of height so the overall sound is closer to your ears- that’s always good news. The 15-3 and the 12-3 work very well together. I was not expecting so much power from that small footprint.
Where I’m most amazed is when I mic’d the 15-3 in my home studio. I think a lot of us that use in ear monitors or that track bass are always looking to add that tube warmth, the harmonic distortion, the extra tone, that oomph. Personally I’ve found that my tube DI’s get me there, at least very close to the tone I’m chasing. Today I didn’t have my pedalboard nearby so I decided to see what the mic’d cab would give me isolated and/or in additional to the DI signal. Through a flat, relatively uncolored DI, my bass always needs something extra. Through my pedalboard’s signal, I feel I’m 95% there. Maybe a little EQ and compression on the board is all I need. But after hearing the 15-3 mic’d, I’m blown away! Perfect tone, better than I was expecting and better than the tone I was chasing.
I’m excited to hear what a blended tone of the pedalboard plus the mic’d signal will sound like.
PS: These cabs are really lightweight. Unfair how much air they move. Amazing job Genzler Amplification!

Extra credit for calling a west coast guy a “bloke”
I love mine, now that the 4x3” speaker array is plugged in! Haha. It does add a warmth to the overall tone, and it’s very quick and articulate for a 15. I have it underneath a BA210-3 SLT and I love it!!!
Would love to try a BA12-3 one day.

Had a great time these last couple of weekends. plenty of bass goodness going on!
I forgot to take a picture but my 15 + 210 + MG800 absolutely crushed it at an outdoor festival today! I'm glad I had an HPF as the raised floor acted like a sub! But it was a killer tone and I don't think I had either volume level past 10:00.
Oh, and the drive channel plus some drive from the new DG B1K was just magic. Blue contour at noon, my Wilkins PJ and I was in tone heaven.
Now if I could just get my gig bag gear situation in order. Too many bags, not well organized...but I guess with multiple bands and use cases, there's no easy answer. I'm sure there's a thread for that but right now I'm too tired to look...

Hey just curious...do you not use IEMs? Just wedges? And yours is different than the others...something special (as it should be)?
Could not be a nicer more down to Earth guy! I would imagine you had a similar experience. He was in town doing a clinic and walked into the club where my band was playing. We were blown away, said hello and asked him to sit in...he sat in with us!! He was of course a phenomenal player! What a memory! Bill Laurance from Snarky Puppy was there too!
Had a show this past weekend, a festival of sorts, multiple bands over two days at a winery with the other band that I play in. Backline was an older hartke head and a Randall 2x15. I thought I would play the rig as it was.... But decided to bring my Magellan 800 and a compressor and use the Randall. Things sounded good enough on stage.
The set was uneventful but I did get interest from the bassist of the band that followed us on the Magellan, he asked who carried it (I think sweetwater does) and he took a photo. I guess it sounded good out front.

I wish Sweetwater carried Genzler gear. I bought all of mine through AMS.
Ah, wish I knew they didn't carry Genzler stuff, I bought mine used off of reverb and so didn't have a vendor/store at the ready. I'm sure he'll find one though.
Had a young pup who plays in a different band with our guitarist come out to our show on Saturday. I’ve never felt more scrutinized as he was watching and looking at everything. He finally cornered me after our second set and said that I had the best tone he’s ever heard and wanted to know more about every last detail in my signal chain, paying special attention to the Genzler BAs and head. When I asked him what he played, he said Markbass and I told him he needn’t tell me anything more.
