Genzler Amplification Club

From what I understand they were running both. It wasn’t very loud but controlled. FOH did a great job and it sounded great out front and stage was perfect! Great venue and crowd!

If you look back I asked if I could use another third (8 ohm) cabinet, and was told I could since it was their stuff, but I never was told why the set it up at 2.67. So if I’m not a fan that’s cool too, I’ll just enjoy my equipment and not worry about you

This is what Jeff said a while ago on the subject.
Hello @woody357 ---- as mentioned above if you're running GENZLER cabs (even the olderGB Focus LT cabs) you could run your MG-800 down to the 2 ohm minimum load. Set the Impedance switch to the 2.67 ohm position. Our cabs are pretty straight forward with their impedance ratings so you'll be fine. There are other manufacturers that have been in the market place where a 4 ohm cab is much closer to 2.6 ohms. I know of several players using 2 GENZLER 4 ohms cab with their MG-800.
Hope this helps.

I was going to attend this show, then my wife had to work and I ended up giving the tickets to my boss.
So I guess I scored points from work, but really wished I had been able to hear Joey in person.

Anyone a fan of Mt. Joy? Michael Byrnes is the bassist. He posted this yesterday on IG. He's playing through a Milkman and Ampeg 810. Most venues DI - How do we get him over to Team G?
Look, he looks SAD because he is NOT playing through Genzler.
Have already PM'd JG hisself.

@Joeykun and anyone else here who plays the big stages - can you DM Mike and tell him whats goin' down?

Super cool. What music were you playing?
I'm also really digging the Avs steal your face!

For the first break we played a medley of:

Mississippi Half-Step>
Bertha>
Samson & Delilah

Second break:

Don't Ease Me In
The Other One
Deal

Prior to that, we played a 2 hour set outdoors in front of the arena. We had probably 3-4 thousand hanging out for that.

I was talking to an old bandmate a bit ago, he saw you guys Saturday night and really enjoyed it.

Question for the group. Selling my amp and looking at new ones. MG800 is high on the list. If I go that way, I also want to move to some Genzler cabs. Looking at stacking the NuClassic 2x10 and 1x12. Is this a good combo? The 2x10 is 500 watts while the 1x12 is 350 watts. Total that’s enough to handle the 800 from the MG, but I don’t know enough to know if the amp sends 400 to each cab and if that would be too much for the 1x12. Thought about also just stacking 2x10s.

I run my 800 with 2 (sometimes 3) 350watt cabs - no issue.

your cabs will only ever get 800 watts if they are at full volume with a strong signal through the chain.

much more likely to excursion failure than thermal failure.

genzler cabs are top notch so you won’t have to worry at all - you should think about the BA cabs as well as the NU series - different flavors of great.

Actually, if I end up finding a deal, I like the idea of stacking a BA 2x10 and NU 2x10.

I had the pleasure of demoing this setup when they came out. It can easily fit any gigging situations from small clubs to large theaters and everything in between! You can check out the video here:

Any 2 8-ohm cabs from Genzler can be fed from the Mag 800. I've also run one 4-ohm and one 8-ohm successfully for years (using the appropriate switch in the back).

I’d start with the MG800; it might make your current cabs sound better.

At the very least - you’ll start with an effective apples to apples comparison before you seek out the Genzler cabs.
