Maybe I jumped the gun! I was playing a sold out 800 capacity noisy venue last night with 2 BA12s. The subs were under the stage vibrating everything, so I turned the rig up so the bass matched the impact. At set break, the FOH guy asked me to turn down because I was out of the PA and the bass was slamming everywhere. He could feel it back at the mix position. Wow! So I turned down and he agreed to put more bass in the sub. The amps were only running at half way.
got me a 15” still wanting a good home! Haha one is amazing 2 is just sshhheeewww! Or can be I guess haha

I think the series 2 makes a lot of sense for the 1x10's. The other cabinets sound great as they are, though sure it doesn't hurt to have the S2's but the older series 1's still rock out.
Yeah I agree I bet the smaller speakers it really helps shine more mids a clarity cause the boom genzler nailed on all cabs I just feel the 15 it’s so boomy the arrays now get enofuh mids you might need from

Indoors - 2 - 12s kick. Outdoors 2 are plenty but I bring 3
As promised here is a photo of my current set up with the two new BA10-2 series 2 cabs. I received the second cabinet just yesterday. One cab by itself is great but two of these little cabs together sound absolutely monsterous with my Stingray Specials using a Mesa D-350 shown here, but my Aguilar TH-350 works equally as well. I guess I could have saved a little money buying just one BA 210 cabinet instead but somehow I think having two BA 10-2 cabs stacked not only looks cooler but might sound even better, plus it puts my amps down to their 4 ohms load and raises the overall height closer to my ears. These will not only get very loud with lots of bottom, but are very articulate and detailed. Did I mention I can carry one in each hand with the top back handle and it's like carrying 2 gallons of milk

Yay, Skunk! I won't keep saying "told you so" but I don't have to.. now you know so! 2 10-2 S2s is the ticket for a lot of players out there. Terrific sound, tiny size. Those cabs really are e-a-s-y to carry.

They do rock out, for sure, but I'm very curious about the apparent changes to the high end.
The above Genzler BA10 cabs are replacing these two Warwick cabinets. When lugging them around I didn't quite get the same feeling of carrying 2 gallons of milk.
One more update on my Magellan 350 — last night we did the first cue-to-cue run-through of Pippin in the performance space. A few numbers in, the sound tech came up to me and very nicely asked if I could turn down my amp just a smidge, because he had me entirely out of the house mix and the bass was still a bit too much.
For the record, the master volume at the time this request was made was a little under 10 o’clock.

That's not much more than I used for Footloose last month (9 o'clock), a much more rock show, with my 350 combo. Were you trying to carry the house, or was that just for your own monitoring? I was in the pit, were you on stage with the show band?
I wasn't trying to carry the house, just looking for a good balance with the rest of the band. I wasn't far off, because I turned down just a bit, to 9 o'clock even, and he was happy (as was I).
We're not on stage, but not in a literal pit either--we're on the floor in the front corner of the house, basically crammed in between the left proscenium edge and the emergency exit on that side. I'd say a little less than an 8x10 foot space for two keys, me and the drummer. There was supposed to be a guitarist, but he dropped out--a loss musically, but a blessing in terms of elbow room. (Although now I'm also bringing an acoustic guitar and small rig for it, since it was determined that the guitar was more important than the bass on a couple of numbers, and the MD knew I could switch.)
Well I tried the Magellan Preamp/DI Pedal with the GK 15" combo provided at rehearsals and it never sounded so good. With a little more tweaking I may get it to actually sound like (or close to) my MG350 112T-V combo.

I received my BA15-3 Series 2 and sat down to test it out. I plugged in my Alembic'ed Starfire and gradually brought up the volume. For the first time in my life, it sounded like the acoustic sound of my bass just got louder. It sounded exactly the same from turned off (less low end, of course), to loud.

The pickups in this bass have a lot to do with it, as well. They are from the early 70s and have a resistance of about 700 ohms. Very clear and deep tone.
