Swapped my Shuttle 3.0 out for a Shuttle 9.2 in my fav Genz Benz/ Genzler hybrid rig this morning. Test driving at a few of shows this week now. First pic with the 9.2, second the 9.2 with the 3.0 on top for reference.

Tsarter- Let us know how it works! Shuttle 9.2 is the best, I still have mine and won't give it up, either.

Edit: I was interrupted when I posted the above and was going to add the same caution that Andy did in his subsequent post - the Shuttle 10" is not up for tons of low frequencies at any kind of loud playing level, being driven by the 9.2 at four ohms.

A compressor would be a good idea and if you have a HPF pedal, break that out and set it to around 80. Of course, that will cut the lows to the much more capable Genzler cab. You might want to just play the gig with the Genzler cab and leave Junior at home, unless it's a lower volume gig.

You've had the Shuttle 3.0-10T combo for some time, so you are aware of its limitations. It's a nice little combo within those.

aaahhh I bet you love it ! I’m looking for an alembic pedal right now the AMT or something similar to get that tone! Love that alembic tone!

Sushi Box Underground Accellerator scratches the Showman Amp tone for me. It has more apparent low end than a more faithful F2B or F1X but in a nice musical way. Plays great with a Starfire sportin' BiSonics.

Yes. I like the 9.2 a lot. There is also something special about the 3.0 though. Obviously less power, but it’s a sweet head too.

Be VERY careful of your 10" speaker, you have enough power there with the 9.0 to destroy it with an accident of lapse of good judgement. Recone kits are in stock though...

Yes. I’m aware of this - thank you . I think the extra headroom will be nice. Hard pressed to get a better tone than my 3.0 though.

Good to know. I don’t play too loud these days. Mostly play Western Swing amd
gypsy Jazz.

How far beyond the limits of the cab does the HPF go?

I was super impressed with how it sounded tonight.

I use my Shuttle 9.2 with a 13kg 12" 600W 8Ohm cab. Just 15kg (33lb) total weight for a 500W power cube. Sounds awesome.

Yes, I’m playing it risky with this new set up but I must say it sounded fantastic at an outdoor Saturday eve in the park type gig last night. I don’t choose to play in particularly loud bands these days so I think I’ll be ok. If I do end with a blown driver down the line I promise not to complain…

It depend on how much power is applied, but “a lot” comes to mind.

Yesterday at the Levitt. Every sound person had to come up and check it out. Everyone was really into the sound. So clear and deep.

I love the slant cab on the bottom. Make a huge difference in getting the sound up to ear level.

Next time, I'll be sure to get the small drivers aligned more carefully!

Thanks for posting this! I'm looking for a mild overdrive with that tone. I've been trying the UAD Dream '65 Reverb, but it's not quite it.

Wow! I have a single 15-3. With your bass and that full rig, there are not adjectives to describe how wonderful the sound must be. IMPRESSIVE!

It's an Alembic Series II setup with pickups and electronics ca. 1973. The pickups have trapezoidal magnets in the rectangular shells and were made by Rick Turner back in the day. So, the middle pickup is a humcanceler. The original got a bit wonky, so this is a modern replacement.

That Guild makes every one of us of a certain age or better dream and reminisce. I might have a hard time remembering what all those controls do! I've seen your pictures of that bass before and it's always good to see it again.

That's the rig. It's stereo, due to the Eventide H90 at the end of my signal chain.

The controls are quite simple. Volume, frequency, and resonance at the cutoff of the low pass filter, for each pickup and a master volume.
