Quick question for those of you with Kinetix. I've used mine on a handful of gigs now and I've noticed that it feels like when I play runs or fills into the higher register of the bass I get completely lost in the mix. My pickups and tone are dimed on my Lakland PJ, I have the BA10-2 Series 2 cabinets and have never had issues hearing the bass in the mix before. I've eq'd some bass out and tried the lean setting while boosting mids & highs. I don't know if its a me thing but I've had a lot of Genz & Genzler gear over the years and never experienced this before. Last Genzler amp was Magellan 350 that I then Sold toward Mesa WD-800 which I then sold in favor of Kinetix. I love the amp and it's simplicity but can't get over the feeling I"m missing something or something is wrong with my setup. I'm typically cutting highs and mids.

Hmmm... I have not experienced anything like this with my Kinetix. I seem to get a good bit of mids/highs out of mine, even without any EQ.

Are you possibly killing the tone from below? Sounds like you've thinned it out and then brightened it on top of that? Maybe your higher notes don't have the support they need underneath them?

Feel free to reach out to me and we can chat about your tonal set up and make sure you're getting what you need from this new head, as part of your new kit.
As mentioned, this is not the norm when it comes to how this head is projecting in the mix. There should be plenty of flexiblity in the range you're talking about.
Also, are you using the Boost setting, even as you play clean. That could add even more dynamics to your overall tone.

I already ordered another Rattlesnake speaker cable should be here in a few days and I'll order the BA 12 next week. The question now is should I get a slanted cab or straight? Sometimes I'll be using the BA 12 all by itself but at other times along with either one BA 10 or 2 BA 10's. I'll be using a Kinetix, not a MG350 that has a bracket to hold the amp. Will the Kinetix be alright at such a steep angle when using all three cabs if I get the slanted BA 12 or should I play it safe and get the straight version?

carry a pair of hockey pucks to put under the rear feet if you are using the entire stack. That should help.

I'd go with the straight.
FWIW, I almost never play with my cabs on the floor. I have a 12 inch high folding step stool for when I play with my BA12 (straight) & BA10 (most of the time) or when using a single BA10. On the rare occasion when just using the BA12, I use an amp stand like this

I'm planning a purchase of a Series 2 BA10-2 in the next month or so. Ill have a 3 cab rig with a gen 1 BA12n a 1st gen BA10, and a Series 2 BA10. At the least, i hope they work well together. At the worst, I'm more than a little nervous that it will be enough of an improvement that I'll feel that I need to replace my current cabs.

These photos from the Genzler site offer one idea for keeping an amp in place with strategic routing of the speaker cables.

That's with a top cab that has a handle in the top. The BA10-2-S2 is a little different, but maybe something similar could be done?

or get a 12 slant on the floor, then put the pucks under the back feet of the 10 on top.
Hockey pucks are a great universal non-conductive 1" (25.4mm) riser. Cheap. Easy to carry. Many options.

Personally I would go slant for those times you only bring the 12.

I have both but find the slant a bit tighter sounding and on its own projects up to my ears better.

Plus the center of them is recessed a bit for washing machine feet - or the feet of your cabinet - to settle in to.

Last Weekend in Mid Michigan. My first gig with the BA2 210/115 rig. Both are SLT's and I had no problem with amp slip. To boot I carried a cab in each hand about 1/4 mile without much problem.

Plus the center of them is recessed a bit for washing machine feet - or the feet of your cabinet - to settle in to.

Those are really good engineered solutions for sure.

In either case the idea is the same, a couple of risers strategically placed can work wonders.

I didn't need these for my Genzler combo and extension cab, but I did order some for my noisy washer and dryer! Ha.. I didn't know these existed. Thanks, Modulus!

My BA2 115-3 arrived the other day. Sadly, I have been so sick I couldn't even mess with it. Just got it out last night and hope to give it a good test run with the BA2 210-3. I have decided I am going to keep my NC210T around as it is a really cool cab. I'll bring it along as extra support for outdoor gigs and may still bring it to a gig every now and then with the 210-3 as they do sound great together. It will get use playing at home so I don't have to set up my full rig. That can be a bit much in the house. I wanted to get the BA2 115-3 as I love the 10s but was missing just a bit of umph in the bottom. And the 115-3/210-3 stack seems like such a great pairing. How could Jeff, Nate, and so many others be wrong?

Soon I'll probably look for a small amp for use at home. Maybe a MG 350 if the price was right, but still, I don't know that I even need that much at home for fooling about. Any you folks have any other recs for a small little amp that works well with the NC210T?

Just a fun picture I found. All slanted cabs! 15, 210, 12, 10. I don’t think I would put an amp on top; not sure I could even reach. I actually only still own on the BA 110 series 2 on top; sold the other three, and I bought a series 2 BA 115 and BA 410. You can see the Magellan 800 and an acoustic array pro head mounted in a custom black walnut case. Absolutely love those amps.

i’ve been rocking the newer stack (not pictured) with the new Kinetix 800 amp and I’m super happy. I will post about that once I get a good picture of that rig.

By the way, I did a funk/rock fusion band trio rehearsal the other night with only the BA 110 series 2, and am just blown away by that little cab. I can see why people stack three of those… Though I would probably want to put the 12 as the third cab. The 12 with the 10 is a pretty awesome combo.

Also, both the series 2 BA410-3 and BA 15-3 will blow your mind individually and collectively. Really love the greater treble extension of the new mid/high drivers (the BA 110 series 2 especially blows away the series one in highs and lows)

in my experience, it takes a while for the tens to break in and give you the full bottom but once they do…epic

A little spinoff abot the mg350. I’m very happy with my MG 350 in fact I have two (one for backup) but the other day I played through a vintage GK rig and forgot about that killer grind that goes so well with my flatwound P bass.I had that Tom Petty live tone. I like the clean tone I have but wondering if I can come close or only the 800 can do that. These days of low stage volume I just don’t need 800 watts and the expense. Welcome any thoughts.

That’s what’s kind of sad about these days. There are such great amp choices, but both my church and cover band are DI/IEM/silent stage set ups. Although I have thought about using my MG350/12T-V as my preamp/DI. It’s not THAT big (27 lbs and 22”x14”x16” footprint) and wouldn’t really affect the FOH mix, and it might give a little “tactile” feedback on stage.
The Kinetix would also be awesome but I don’t know if I can justify that expense and it doesn’t hook on to the bracket on the cab.
