I need some of you forum members to give your input on this. I have been throwing the thought around about picking up a 3rd cab to go along with my Kinetix 800 but I am having a tough time deciding which cabinet. Right now I have two of the series 2 BA 10 arrays. My original plan was to either put a NC 210, NC 12 or NC 15 on bottom and stack both 10" array cabs on top. I thought it would sound great, look cool and be a bit different from what everyone else has. However, Jeff thought that I'd be better off sticking with all array cabs so I have it narrowed down to two different options. Option 1 is to get the MG 350 -BA combo. This option not only gives me a 3rd BA 10 series 2 cab but includes a MG 350 which will run all three cabs and gives me another flavor when I want to change up from the tubed Kinetix 800. Option 2 is to get a BA 12 series 2 array so I'd have it on the bottom with two 10" array cabs stacked on top using strictly the Kinetix when running all 3 cabs. Also, If I choose the BA 12 do I get slanted as are my other BA 10 's cabs or straight? I'm concerned the steeper angle with all three cabs being slanted would potentially allow the Kinetix to slide or vibrant off. Option 1 is about $150 more than option 2 but not enough to be a deal breaker, I just want the better option. What would you guys do? Thanks

Can’t take a rig shot as I’m using another brand for backline. But, cool outdoor show in the 97F heat here in KY!!

Go forth and prosper. The series doesn’t need to match for the cabs to work well together. Either would be an amazing addition.

Hey Skunk. I don't have any of the other Genzler gear you mentioned, but as we've talked about earlier in this thread, the MG-350-10-2 Combo with an additional 110-2 is pretty darn fabulous for its size. You already have 2 110s, so why not go for the Combo? You would get the option of running the Combo with the two existing cabs for a 2 ohm/3 cab stack. You can run the Kinetix with the two cabs, or even three if you take the cradle off the Combo and use it as a straight cab.

Although taking it off and putting it back on is enough of a production you wouldn't want to do it x times again in a row. Maybe more for a one-off.

Since you already have two 10-2s. why not go for three with the Combo and the amp flexibility?

Edit: Someone mentioned subsequently that the decision should start with whether you want the MG-350. That was a good point.

Joey! Wish I'd known ahead of time! I would have come up from TN. I looked the gig up on the FJ website. Gethsemane, Ky! I have been there but not to that venue, [This invalid link has been removed]. It's a distillery and venue! How cool is that?

How did the band book there? It's definitely outside your usual New England concert travels.

I’d go with the 12-3

more options as to speaker configs.

Your first decision is whether or not you want a Magellan 350. Make that decision and the cab decision makes itself.

We played FL, VA, OH, DE, PA, NJ, NY in addition to all of New England this year alone. We get around! :cool:

I'd do this, so you can have the benefits of the 12". It's a great cab. Consider going used, you can save money, and even get an MG350 used as well for the ultimate in versatility. If everything works out as I hope it does, I will likely have one for sale soon.

how about another option? If you want the magellan flavor without another amp, get the Magellan Pre. I expect that if you have an A/B Y splitter pedal, you could plug A into the Kinetix input, B into the preamp into the line in on the kinetix and have the foot switchable ability to go from the tube preamp in the Kinetix or the Magellan pre and have all of the options available whenever you play.
Then for the speaker cab... How do you feel about the 10-2's? If you love them, go for three. If not, or if you think you still want something a little different, add a 12-3. They do pair nicely with the 10-2 and do add another flavor, also giving you more options - one 10-2, one 12-3, two 10-2's, a 10-2 and a 12-3, or all three cabs. FWIW, I'd go with the straight 12-3.

New owner of a Magellan 800. Played my second gig with it last night at a street festival. Professional sound reinforcement was provided by the organizers. After the first set, the sound guy comes up to me a says.. "tell me about this head... It's perfect. I don't have to touch a thing" made my day! was running DI post eq on the drive channel @~9 o'clock everything else pretty much flat..
