Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

Thoughts
Loudness is a subjective term. It can be measured as SPL (different weightings apply) at a given distance and is usually measured on-axis but really what exact meaning does that have to us as bass players? I personally have never had satisfaction using a single 12 of any brand with a loud drummer and two guitar players. I did perform a test with the mentioned speaker and a 200 watt micro bass amp. It was my subjective feeling that it was loud enough FOR ME to play with a drummer for lite type gigs and my subjective feeling that I would need two for full-blown High Voltage Rock N Roll. Bear in mind that anyone's subjective feeling may or may not coincide with anyone else's. Music style, playing style, band members and their gear, venue size, and amplifier all have input to this equation. Dang, NOW I got AC/DC "High Voltage Rock N Roll" running around my brain.

yeah... I don't do AC/DC :woot: or anything of the sort. It sounds/feels as if I'll probably be just fine but need to jump in and see...

I sent you a message bebass

I suggest going to your local dealer and checking them out to see if one will meet your needs.

^ That's a pretty fugly amp so the "stand" doesn't matter - although it do look like you spent quite a bit of time tracking down the fugliest milkcrate ever made ;) ?

Those Genzler cabs are pretty, putting them up on milkcrates just ain't right ;) . A faux one or two would make an awesome stand but probably prohibitively expensive :( and take up too much car-space unless somehow made collapsible?.
Doug always insists on having cabs close to ear level.....He normally uses 4x10 stacked on 15"....Bi amped.

Nice review.........

WOW - Sean's bass playing is killer! I think he made some good points which in general coincide with my views about stage side dispersion with Arrays, and paper cone's mid properties when adding distortion. With several of the pro sound arrays we have heard comments like "We don't even need monitors" when placing the arrays to the side, which also demonstrates this point of being able to hear at a side angle.
Now if only I could get my playing to sound like Sean's...

Well, there will be a HPF in the new amp but due to other factors within the circuitry the low end performance will feel different than previous designs that bore a certain name.

Very, very anxious to see the new amp! The cabs look great but I'm far more interested in the pending amplifier.

Getting closer.... The Magellan 800. Clean and Drive preamp channels, Dual slope Contour Filter, a newly refined Active EQ network w/parametric mids and a rear panel feature set you'd expect from previous products.
