Jim, just adding my comments to what Sean has commented here too. I think there are a few differences. There is a low mid throatiness to the BA12-3 which is not as prevalent in the BA210-3 due to the 10" drivers. So with the BA210-3 being a little more "polite" in the lower mids (under where the Array Column comes in) I think the BA210-3 is a little more modern in its tone. And like Sean mentioned, that is how he EQ's his BA12-3 anyway.
The other difference is in the projection. The most immediate difference I hear is that with the 2x10's in their cross-corner configuration, the BA210-3 just sounds more "broad" ---- which since it is a wider cab, makes a lot of sense.
The other factor is the obvious "feel" of how 10" react compared to 12's. For those that like the immediacy of 10"s then this is probably the cabinets one should gravitate towards.
Important note --- we don't feel that one BA model takes the place of the other, this is just the opportunity for those players that like the feel, punch and performance of 10's drivers, to know have a choice in with this unique design.

I think this best describes the differences between the two.
Never a GK MB!!! Unless you like gettimg your amp serviced due to electronics failure. I had 3 electronics failures with GK. I have a streamliner and shuttlemax and am so happy!! I wasnt used to ele failure. For almost 20 yrs I used a musicman hd150. It never once let me down. Then I got a GK MB series and next thing you know I'm breaking down during gigs! Anyway ..GO GENZLER!!!I agree.. I was as well because I was expecting a price of around $900. $760 is not bad at all for such a quality head. The D800 and the MB 800 both go for $699. In my opinion the extra $60 for the Magellan is money very well spent.. Being able to go to 2.67 ohms alone is worth the extra $60.. Factor in the quality of the head itself..and the versatility of it..
I have a M800 and a SL900 .. so I am set on amps for life ......

You have no idea how close you've come to summing up a significant portion of the last few years of my life... I think I feel a tear coming on. Therapy might have been cheaper and less time consuming... not sure.

Dude, I can't stop laughing at this because it is so true and hits so close to home! I've been tone chasing like crazy the last couple years. I've been through 5 or 6 amps, half dozen cabs at least, pedals galore...its a sickness.
I'm going to have to try the new Genzler cabs and see if I can make the madness stop.
Sometimes I forget how lucky I am. I was an acoustic guitar player for years... one day between sets at an afternoon gig in New Hope, PA, I walked into the music store next door and player a Lowden L25C that was on the wall, fell in love, and eventually bought the guitar. I began playing the guitar and got GAS more than once, bought something else but still continued to play only that guitar. One day I realized that was my guitar and I really didn't even want another one. I tried... believe me... but that Lowden felt like an extension of my hands. It was stolen in 1999 or I'd still play only that Lowden (serial number 271 if you ever run into it). The Lowden folk built me a replacement that quickly became my guitar. I tried to get a few other guitars including a second Lowden but only played that one from the day I got it on.
Then about 5 years ago, we lost the bass player in our church band and couldn't find a replacement so I slid into that spot and decided that I would actually learn to be a bass player rather than a guitarist playing at bass... bought a bass and an amp (Cirrus, shuttle 3.0, Acme B2) and began to learn. After a couple of years I decided that I wanted to move to fretless and fell into the Bee in my avatar. I needed a little more from my head and found a used shuttle 9.0 that hit the sweet spot for me. Then I realized that the B2 wasn't quite doing it for me, began looking, and Genzler released the BA12-3. It sounded like it would do exactly what I was hearing in my head. Indeed it did. I've tried playing other basses and traded for one... only play the Bee. I've used other rigs in provided backlines and always think "boy, I wish I had my own gear." I could see myself swapping the shuttle for the Magellan 800... and maybe adding a second BA12-3 just because, but don't really feel any real desire for either. Somedays I think it would be cool to have a smaller instrument for travel - maybe a wingbass or something headless with a shorter scale, but I know I'd probably never play it so why?
So... I'll just work on my playing I think instead of chasing gear... well, maybe a couple more pedals... and a looper... and an ebow...
It stopped for me with Genzler (and Berg), at least for the moment.
I can't wait til my MG800 is delivered in Tuesday. Kids will be at my in-laws for the week, no interruptions. The sad thing is, I love my GK tone, but after the first one died, I kinda cringed every time I powered the replacement on. Somehow, in the back of my mind I knew it would blow and it did a few days ago. At least GK is sending a brand new one that I can sell to recoup the some of the Magellan cost with.

I was like that with my Ampeg SVT 7PRO. Nothing ever went wrong with it ( I only had it a year) but after reading all the horror stories. ..... I couldn't live with the fear every time I turned it on. ...it had a few seconds of "nothing" on power up. ... plus, it didn't floor me with its tone. So I sold it for my TH500. Now I've a MG800 and, as usual with Genz gear, I don't have ANY fears. 
I still have my GK MB800 as my back-up. Great little head, and so loud, but my MG800 requires much less knob twisting, and the notes have a little more "girth" to them.
I have tone chased hard for the last 2-3 years going through multiple basses, amps, cabs, and strings. I have finally found everything I was looking for and then some with my current Genzler 800 and gentler Bass Array Stack. By far the best tone and setup I've ever had. I'm actually gas free. Well except for me wanting one of the Array 210 cabs lol.
