I love the tone of the MB800, but I had two brand new go out in less than 6 months. So I'm not going to use GK anymore, not reliable in my experience. I have the new replacement head that I just received up for sale.

Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

I love the tone of the MB800, but I had two brand new go out in less than 6 months. So I'm not going to use GK anymore, not reliable in my experience. I have the new replacement head that I just received up for sale.
Sorry if this has already been asked, but has anyone tried using 3 8ohm cabs with their MG800 yet (engaging the 2.67 ohm switch of course)?

Check out Tom B's review in the current Bass Gear Magazine issue. He has gigged that full rig a few times.
Not 3 8 ohm, but I used an 8 ohm GK 212 Neo can with a 4 ohm Bergantino AE410 cab. The house literally shook, the cats scattered and I didn't see them for about 30 minutes. It reminded me of the 2 SVT810s that I used in the 90's. Awesome, totally awesome.
Like thishmmm , i wonder how the Magellan 800 would pair with
my Epifani UL410 series 1 ?

At band practice I play through the singer's Epifani DIST 112 cabinet that I always had problems with using my ShuttleMax 9.0 but since getting the Magellan it's been great. Pretty weird. I was never able to get something I was happy with with SM. Weird overtones. Boomy. And I was always knob fiddling. The Magellan though...boom! Easily dialed in something tight, warm and great. (hey! that sounds like a description of something else.)

the Shuttle 9.0 , the Streamliner 900 { i still gig with this one }
and now the Magellan 800 !!

In short the Magellan is easier to get a tone, It's punchier in the mids and not so bottom heavy BUT it still gets a very satisfying Bottom. The Magellan 800 seems more IMMEDIATE, It has Dual Channels, ,The Two CONTOURS are very handy and add to a myriad of ones. Yet it may be the easiest of all amps that i have owed to get a tone.
It does have the similar high quality and reliable DI out. I say similar because the ST900 DI was post tube whereas the MG900 is solid State. and a very good solid state i must add

Well my Genzler 800 and Array Stack finally got the ultimate approval this weekend. My wife for the first time in my playing career came up to me after the gig this weekend and said your bass sounded better than I've ever heard before. Said it really stood out int he mix and just sounded amazing lol. Getting a compliment out of her without asking first is a miracle and you know it had to sound good.
