I couldn't even get the old band to do this song well; they had a lot of trouble with the anticipated hits. Imagine this song with a very straight feel.

Tomorrow I'll likely be scarce in these cyber-regions, at least after noonish, since I have a couple of rehearsals scheduled that are going to run into the night. I'm super excited to be playing with a really good guitarist again and pulling out some more complicated material that I haven't played in quite a long time. I'm really hoping this guy stays happy with us because he's adding so much that I've been missing. Plays really well, has a good, fast ear, and can sing any harmony and instantly hear whatever part isn't being taken and just sing it. A dream.

Some driving music could be Rare Blend's Stops Along The Way (assuming you're making some
). Another bit of great driving music is Patrick O'Hearn's Eldorado; we loved listening to that while driving through the desert, especially places like Anza-Borrego.

If you have the time for a detour, the area northeast of Taos is beautiful (Cimarron, Eagle Nest).
If you're going down the 15 towards L.A. check out Devil's Punchbowl, a bit south of Pearblossom. Get off the 15 at Victorville and head west (young man). Cool place to hike (could be hot, too
).

Yeah. 'Course with it being 4+/- days out, there's no telling exactly what it's gonna do. I'm kinda prepared to be prepared. Panels will go up tomorrow/Saturday; got stuff to hunker down with-food/drink, etc. I've been through a few so I'm aware of what to expect. The forecasting isn't an exact science pretty much right up to the time it crosses the coast. No hurricane party, just me and the cat. Oh. Also no outdoor jam Sunday and our Labor Day outdoor gig is 86'ed.
