I have mine for 38 years (1973-2011) before passing it on to the next caretaker. I bought it used in '73. it was made in February 1967. Played it at any kind of gig, from truly sleazy college dive bars up through big festival stages playing to huge crowds.

I thought if I'd get another it would probably be a US Lakland Hollowbody.

Tapes + semi-hollowbody sounds great to me.

First I saw tapes circa 81-2, thought they were kind of weird. Squarely in the Rotosound ring, but that was the Thing. Rehearsal rooms were Fender Bassman equipped and (just about) everybody wanted Mesa Boogie. That's what I saw, yet listened with some envy of a friend's experience with his sparklely red Kustom.
