I like hollow bodies as well. The only problem that I encountered with some vintage hollow body basses is feedback at high volumes.
The pickups in these old instruments were often not potted or epoxied and simply mounted in a metal case. Like the old Gibson PAF style pickups. What usually works for me is to drip wax on the bottom of the pickup case to damp vibrations generated within the body. It usually works and no special notching out the EQ is required.
Semi-hollow basses are often fine because the pickups are isolated in the center block.
I’ve repeatedly read that the current generation of kids in the UK are drinking less, moderate in consumption. Pub takings aren’t what they used to be and landlords are concerned.

Not sure if any of this applies to sports enthusiasts who enjoy getting loud and worked up.
In general around here where students reside, the bars, pubs, and clubs are always packed. Kids buy booze by the case for parties. They have more money than in the past nothing holds them back.

My only problem with vintage semi-hollowbodies is they all seem to be the same tepid burst. I know, classic and all. Love love love my sapphire burst.

My first hollow body instrument was a nice cherry red, no burst at all. All my basses have flats except for one.
I take bursts very seriously. The colors have to be blended right. I tend to prefer two tone rather than the classic Fender style three tone with the red in it.

Yeah. The Ibby is semi-hollow and the tapes give it a very UB-y tone.^^^ I’m a lover of tapewounds too.
Both of my acoustics are ‘wound.
I could do that with my semi-acoustic (empty chambers inside) Univox!

Our gas supplier came by Thursday morning, replaced the regulator on our decades-old propane tank, checked for leaks, and did not relight our water heater. I didn't discover this until I was running hot water in the kitchen last night and it wasn't getting hotter. I got to learn how to light the pilot light on a heater with solid-state ignition. I like this better than actually having to strike a match...
There are those that want to ban the use natural gas. Everyone will have to go buy new electric appliances. California is leading the charge.
Here they've banned fireplaces in homes. Not allowed to use them any more. No open fires anymore in some areas in the country! A lot of nearby restruants and butcher shops that wood fire smoke saussages and cook with charcole pits have been hit hard. Now they are required to have expensive scrubber ventilation systems. Fines are high. Some buisnesses have shut down because they can't afford to comply.

First tapes I had were Ernie Ball Red Tubies. Had them on my TBird. Loved the sound and feel so naturally, they stopped making them.

You hear about the power shutdowns in the northern parts of the state during forest fires, in part because of a lack of infastructure. Nobody wants to pay to upgrade. They need more hydro electric plants but that can really transform the rivers. I've seen the results of that. You'd think that harvesting ocean currents and tides would be the answer but anything that impinges on a seal, such as straws, garners waves of protests. Don't get me going on the San Francisco and the raw sewage from street people getting flushed into the ocean. Family that live there are planning on moving.
California seems to have more than their share of problems.

I have heard such rumors. Saw it coming when I heard news stories years ago about 'outlawing' cook fires...
Biggest State = Biggest Problems!
