Don't forget the Mellotron, the worlds first sampler with a partitionable keyboard.
Since you could record and splice your own tape loops for it, unique sounds could be had by recording an instrument at half speed, double, or any achievable percentage of the Mellotrons tape speed.
This would yield sounds with drastically altered dynamic envelopes.![]()
That's true.There are some amazing Mellotron/Chamberlin youtube demos. So many synths try to copy it, even today.
