Don't forget the Mellotron, the worlds first sampler with a partitionable keyboard.
Since you could record and splice your own tape loops for it, unique sounds could be had by recording an instrument at half speed, double, or any achievable percentage of the Mellotrons tape speed.
This would yield sounds with drastically altered dynamic envelopes.

That's true. There are some amazing Mellotron/Chamberlin youtube demos. So many synths try to copy it, even today.

Well, that's certainly different! Wonder what the instrumentation was?

I couldn’t tell too well. My poor MacBook Pro has developed horrible distortion on playback. I think it might have become fed up with all the talk of overdrive on this site! I guess I should visit an Apple store and get an opinion from an AppleNerd. :) Maybe after Christmass.

The last time I went I had all sorts of junk which seemed to originate from Flash updates. I don’t allow them any more. All he did was load Malwarebytes on to the laptop and it cleared everything up perfectly!

Went to the Dentist this morning. Got up at 6AM to do so. I get there and she says ‘What are you doing here?’ I had the wrong date on the calendar. :rollno:

I came back home and went back to bed! LOL

Got up at 6AM to do so...
I get there and he says "What you doing here?"...
I had the wrong date on the calendar....so I said "I don't know"...

I was thinking more like:

"I woke up this morning and went straight back to bed......."

Pity the boom operators who are going to hear "okay boomer" for the next five years.
I played a (mic) boom operator on a feature film back in the '80s.

We saw this this afternoon: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

It seems that boom operators on refueling aircraft are indeed called boomers or simply boom.

Did you use a dead cat or a dead kitten?

Another "feelgood" film we saw a few weeks ago was A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Regarding SW, I was not enamored at all with chapters I-III, and hated the digital makeovers of IV-VI. We watch VII and IIX to get up to speed and learn about the new characters. Glad that Lucas finally has the DFX well integrated into the live action footage. A very fitting end to the series (well, we'll see about that..............)
