My fretless has a six string lined fingerboard. The thought of that featureless slab of black Ebony terrified me. I’ve not regretted that decision.

The tenderness that found me lame on Christmas morning abated enough today to get around and about. Coffee good. The baristas know my name (but I don't know their names). Only remarked in that no tables remained as I took placed my order. Ordinarily there is no need to mark my name on the saucer because we all know each other on that level. Lots of people about, and always feels good to see a bit of good cheer and share in the same.

Yes better sound in the newer models.

They must be low on product given the delay in shipping. The season was good for Apple. Those new wireless ear pods were a big seller, they are apparently out of warehouse stock.

I built my middle daughter a Windows 10 PC for her college course (computer graphics, animation and game design) this Christmas.

It had to be affordable(ish), meet the approved list for all her software, and balance single-core performance for design work against multi-core/multi-thread for rendering- all in one box.

Decided not to overclock it, for noise and durability reasons.

With two monitors, it cost the same as my late-model high-spec 4K iMac, and positively crushes it on every benchmark that exists. It’s also built from common, mass-market parts, is easy to service and repair, has every expansion port you could ever wish for, no dongles or adapters needed, and years of forward compatibility thanks to PCIE 4.0, etc.

Apple has received the last dollar they’ll ever get from me, at least when it comes to computers...
