The backing band was called The Enchanted Forest. They toured with Tiny Tim. The performance in the video was The Ed Sullivan Show.

I can't see it well but the bass might be an EB-O or EB-3, can't see the knobs. It sounded good in the clip.

One of my first 'real basses' was an EB0. I had joined a band in the early 70's and they liked my playing a lot. One day the BL called me aside and said, "Will, we love your playing. But you gotta get a different bass, man. Your sound is too muddy." So I bought a P-bass then a J-bass and used them until the 80s.

Not enough of a Rush fan to recognize Neil Peart by name Likely hard pressed to name a Rush song. Was really never my "thing". Sort of clumped Rush in my mind in there with Boston. Never owned any album with Paul Simon either.

And no clear idea why I lust for an EB-0 or EB-3 style bass. Uhe nderstand the current generation is not so muddy. The Epi EB-0 is "sort of" interesting as purely an upgrade vehicle. By the time it's up to what I (believe I) want, could have had a new SG bass.

Ever hear of that happening a lot with a Martin? I have seen some examples. They have that pyramid bump under the nut which may help.

They have sharp horns. You'll take an eye out with that thing.

I wouldn't mind a les paul jr with soap bar pickups. They are inexpensive but sound good.

The deal is, if you never really leave there then it's not any worry. Lots of people look like they're fully here but the record shows otherwise. Asked a friend about Beetlejuice and reminded her I only said it once.

There is a major confluences of those things at the NAMM Show every year, and it seems to get worse every year.

Rush's music was amazing (at least up through MP, and some smatterings beyond that, IMO).

I think that it helps that people tread carefully with their Martin's. THey are also light. Gibsons are heavy and when they fall over, they really smack the floor. Fenders are top lighter. My '63 strat (bought in the early 70's) came with a seriously bent tuner, no issues at all with the headstock or screw holes. I imagine that it took quite a knock.
