Right......curveball for breakfast.
Roll this with your eggs, bacon, kippers, bangers and mash, whatever you hit up in the morning.
Anyone hanging here is old enough to know of these guys, but maybe not sharp enough to remember them!
They had a hit or two in the 80's, but this was always my favorite, just for the fun of it, so humor me, and bounce along on Tuneful Tuesday!

Of course I remember them. Walking on sunshine. 80's are easy and not THAT long ago. Now, the 60's and 70's...

Problem is, a lot of "codgers" know the 60's or 70's cause they were active, playing, and part of the scene.
After that?.........not so much!
I've been active and playing since the 70's and into music before that. The problem is brain cells...and the burning thereof...

I gradeeated...,no, gratooated......, got outta high school.
I got Marshmallow poisoning in Oporto.....
I was in grade school, early grade school. And the first time I heard the Beatles it was truly almost like a religious experience. I think it's why I ended up being a musician. It was like magic to me.
In truth...and NOT trying to fire up the old fan rivalries.....
My first hearing of the Beatles resulted in me declaring that pop music was dead!......
It was weird in London, it was Beatles or Stones.....Seldom both....
The Beatles had heavy radio airplay, then there was was the Beatles are coming ad campaign before Sullivan. They orchestrated to have them hit number one when they appeared that Sunday evening. Instrument sales went through the roof with every kid wanting to be in a rock'n'roll band.
I didn't go to any classes in my last year of high school. All my teachers let me skip out. I spent my time in the library reading music magazines like Melody Maker. I'm not sure how, but after the final exams they gave me a Public High school Diploma (PHD) and sent me on my way.

Odd. In Alaska we played both-- and the American stuff too. There was no choosing sides for us-- it was all good for us!

Before the Beatles I was influenced by Elvis, Chuck, Carl, and Roy...in the 60's we did 60's pop songs and country. A mod riding on a Honda 50. In the early 70's I took a step back to my roots and was in greaser band. That Brylcreem was murder, what a mess. A rocker, liking souped up cars.
Not being a snob, I've made money doing both.
