Percy has always been one of my bass heroes. The prog-fusion band I was in back in the '90's did several shows at Orion; somewhere around here I have some of the board mix recordings from one of those shows. The guitarist from that band went on to record a couple of CDs with Percy Jones. I was not too crazy about the music they made on those recordings, a lot of weird atonal stuff, but I guess someone liked it. Brand X was in Sacramento last year and I finally got a chance to see them live. Great show.

I've posted these songs once, or maybe twice
before, they were recorded at Orion the last time we played there, in August 2008.Unfortunately, these are the only two songs that have been mixed, the rest of the show is still in pieces on the hard drive.

I've never done anything with these; just popped them onto this server so I could share them with my friend John, who ran the board for us at those shows. He passed away last year. Back in the 90's they would cut a CD of your performance there and you could buy it for not much money. One of our fans sent me these files.
I'll just post one here but there are several on the server in that folder if anyone cares. I'm not the bass player in this band. Just doing the vocal work.

Not under my control, and those with the files probably have no interest/time in piecing the 24 track recordings together, these days. Sad, because we had lots of good material from that show, IIRC.Time to get busy sorting it out then innit???....

I was listening back to my attached recording and found that they got cutoff about halfway through. A glitch in the TB upload software?
I think if you click on the hyperlink, hopefully the complete songs get downloaded. Has any one tried this? I can't, because it simply goes to my original files on my computer, so I can't verify this.

Far bigger show that I would have expected from a private collection that was amassed over the years. Lots of immensely important photographers and subject matter, covering pretty much the history of photography, up to demise of the black & white film way doing things. Not just contact sheets, too. Many important photographs on exhibit, also.
Don't miss this if you can get there.

After listening to it in the post, I clicked on link and it loaded but I didn’t listen a second time. TB does have limits but usually it generates an error once you reach it and the upload is aborted. I’ve never seen a partial upload.
If you click in a way to do a “save as” on your computer, you should be able to specify a download location and re-download the file. I use a pad not a computer on TB and can’t try this.

Kids today like to take shortcuts. Tech companies are hiring based on specific experience, not having a degree. No need to pay your dues any more. The truth is, they are hiring unqualified people because they can’t find enough good workers. So they hire based on potential and train them. Those that can cut it get to stay.
