Never been there, I wouldn’t curry favor with Ruby
An ejemacayshun for you me old China Plate...

Ruby Murray is classic Cockney Rhyming Slang for curry. I can tell you that around these parts “going out for a Ruby” is a most popular pastime. That's probably why there are so many Indian restaurants in London called simply “The Ruby”.
Ruby was, in fact, a very popular singer in the UK in, I think the 40's and 50's.....

East Londoners started rhyming it to mean curry way back then and it's still a popular term even though most who use it these days have no idea of its origin or namesake.....

Piano was not a requirement for an English major. English major / music major, call it a draw.
Really. How many jr or sr HS jobs are there? And at many schools in FL, band is an after school activity. When I was in HS, I had 3 periods of instrumental music: orchestra, concert band, and(ugh)marching band.

Did you have spats in marching band? Inquiring minds and all.

Music programs around the country have been drastically cut. Right now your best shot is in a private or charter school with an arts focus. Any more, teaching is all about the tests.

in red and white w/ red feather thing-y* top front.
I did a coupla years of (then)junior(now, community) college after my 4 in the Navy in a major that didn't work out for me-I wasn't any good at it.
I do remember hearing the chant "poli sci, we don't try".

*technical term

I've often wondered what happens to all the music majors that graduate each year. Tens of thousands of them.:wacky:

What about the instruments and amps that are manufactured year after year. One Yamaha factory in China alone makes 500,000 acoustic guitars a year. I can only guess that tens of millions of instruments are churned out world wide by all companies.

Where do they all go?

Backs of closets, attics, basements, etc., then Goodwill to start the cycle again.

Where do all the cheerleaders go?

Present! But no accounting... Actually, I hadda give it up to try to get a little more serious about my engineering studies. But, then got talked into buying my first bass to join the new university pop group, for elective credit, and the rest is history. Not well known history, 'cept un my family, but still history.
.
Those cheerleaders are as hardcore athletes as the players on the field, no lie.

Yes, us tall guy cheerleaders sure got a workout lifting the uh, more "healthy" girl cheerleaders! The short guys with their little skinny girls? Feggeddaboudit!

If one reads the NCAA rules with the thought in mind that the rules exist to protect the interests of young people, the rules make no sense whatsoever.

However, if one reads the same rules with the thought in mind that the rules are there to protect the NCAA’s revenue stream, the the rules make perfect sense.

I bow to your perception and wisdom!
