Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I found a Squier VM Cabronita on my local CL for a steal. ($120) Great neck, nice bass, but the sound was meh. Uneven volume between strings no matter how I adjusted the p/up. (Fideli-tron) Bought a TV Jones Thunderblade (neck) p/up and...WOW! HUGE difference. Nice, even, thumpy boom with some growl if I dig in. P/up cost more than the bass and was well worth it.
I like the green one; it's unusual because I usually don't like green, but that one sure is nice. Walnut one should be here tomorrow. I have a practice here tomorrow evening with an artist I'm going to record with in a few weeks; might drag it out for that just to play around with it if it's here by then. Working with my favorite drummer and a really good guitar player on this one; should be fun and it's easy, paid work, which is even better.
I know what you mean. Yesterday at 6AM I couldn’t go out because it was pouring heavy rain. At noon it was freezing rain, the trees and sidewalks were covered with ice. By the evening there was a thick layer of snow, the ploughs were out overnight. This morning everything has iced up.
Not unusual for the ER’s to be filled with people with broken limbs as a result of slipping and falling on the ice.

A really nice looking bass. Love that early P-headstock.
What's amazing about old pipe organs is that some of the original manufactures (Some of the projects in progress in our workshop) are still in business.

Nice SVT. There are times I miss Los Angeles. Gonna be a little bit before I rewire with TV Jones and new pots. Saw lots of dough in the GAS account fly away. But. That is the final piece of this, it's complete, nothing more for me to do but wait the bureaucracy out. Five, six years of all over the freaking planet to get here?

These are both in the "one of anything" bucket.
Happened across a clip for a Montblanc Carrera and had these two pens created to fit a spare nib assembly from a Sheaffer Imperial. The Carrera was a student model targeted at the same demographic the Sheaffer Targa owned.
I bought a steel Targa for my first year of university that still sees use. The black lacquer Targa I bought the following year always felt nobby. Possibly because it looks nobby with its plated gold furniture. A formal pen. The Carrera was a gift, it was the yellow model. It got lightfingered somewhere. That made the find of a Carrera clip worth my investment.
Chose the "Halloween" material. Did not realize from the samples that it would not turn out as pretty as imagined. The pen guy made a second one, above, as a freebie because the original material isn't as striking as I thought it might be.
Both pens are put up for the time as I've been using my pink Lamy Safari (Limited Edition) nearly exclusively of late.
Anyone else noticed that the Grumpy's and the Mediocres are starting to meld into one....

And here we go on the "my surgeries" thread
Two full knee replacements is a lot of shock to the body. I mean, unbelievable. And yet. Found myself in that place in life where stairs were pure torture, walking painful, standing painful, life looks pretty SuXoRz when it's just bone on bone, SuXoRz when surgery is the better option ....
Absolutely months of physical therapy. OMFG.
It's done, I can walk without pain, and there's a great deal to be said for "I can walk". Except for of course osteoarthritis is a general condition and now it's the right foot that's bone on bone.
Got this super-dooper steroid cream to treat the skin above my ankle, so rescheduling the surgery now on the presumption it works.
There, I feel better now
