Working at WDW they couldn't go 'regimental'. Mark, the bassist is a lot taller/younger than me.

I'm guessing that's just a cut down kitchen sponge with a scrubby side, like this one I have in my kitchen. Be interesting if that scrubby bit works to make it better.

Yes, "Just Dropped In" didn't sound very country, but the rest of the First Edition catalog sure did. "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town"? "Momma's Waiting"? "She Even Woke Me Up To Say Goodbye"? So, no big surprise when his solo act was labeled Country. RIP.

I've never measured the SPL of the table-top paper folder that I operate, but a friend who used to work for 3M blessed me with some very comfortable headphone-style sound suppressing devices that knock down its sound (like machine gun fire!) nicely. I think they are called "Shotgunners". I wear them over my ear buds so I can listen to my current audio book...

OSHA recommends a level of 85db (it varies, sport ones say 82db) or lower inside the hearing protection headset. If a headset is rated for 27db reduction, 85+27=112db would be the highest level that you would want to be exposed to.

The passive aviation and sport headsets have similar ratings. Some sport ones claim higher attenuation numbers but unless they are certified, the numbers may not be accurate.

The problem with all hearing protectors is that their effectiveness varies with frequency. So it gets complicated. To figure out what is best. Using active noise reducing ear buds if you have them with the headset adds some extra protection.
