For 68 I still have a respectable amount of hair yet (some thinning) and because of this stupid virus I couldn't get a barber for 3 months. I was already overdue and my hair got pretty long. When I finally got to my hair stylist (Carey's too) I had her cut it "Military." 3/4" sides and back and four or five on top. It sure felt good. When my hair was longer it was a pain to wash and dry. Now it's wash and wear!



I feel your pain. I started seeing some thinning myself and started using a highly rated anti-thinning shampoo. I'm not being paid for saying it, but it really works. I went through my first bottle and Carey said that it looked thicker after my new haircut. We found a bunch of new growth on my scalp. Honest, this stuff works. I just bought 4 more bottles because of the possible supply shortages in the near future.

Saturday Reprise.

John Lennon used to say that he couldn't play the best but he could make a good noise. Some musicians simply have music dripping out of them. Graham Nash is like that. He can take a simple song and make it warm your heart.



The back story to Our House.



His first band was The Hollies. School friends that knew how to take raw playing, much like The Beatles and turn it into a great song. It has to start with a very good song though. I've come to believe that a great sound that catches listeners ears is not perfection, but the combination of rawness that creates something that is greater than the sum of the parts. This song demonstrates that.

I played On A Carousel on YouTube today, great minds think alike. Wanted to hear the little high register woo woo bass part. I then went on a Chas Chandler quest for little solo bass parts, It's My Life, Gotta Get Out of This This Place etc.

She did that song with the Edwin Hawkins singers. They did Oh Happy Day. There is a performance of her with them on youtube. I recommend auditioning Yes Santa There is a Melanie (one of the best christmas records available), Beautiful Hits, Ring The Living Bell, and Old Bitch Warrior. She has less on iTunes now, maybe they are available on other platforms or her web site.

UPDATED: I think I figured it out. It is Austin Scaggs of the Nora Jones' Cabin Down Below band which was the house band for this show. Austin writes for the Rolling Stone Magazine and is the son of Boz Scaggs..

I always envied Fielder for 2 things: his long fingers(mine aren't)and his gig. Saw them live 2-or was it 3?-times. A-mazing.

Good lead guitar players often have long fingers. Like why tall people play basketball. They say the same for piano players but if you ever see Elton John's hands he has short stubby fingers and manages to do just fine.

I think that my fingers are average length, I measure just over 3 ¾" on the middle finger measured beside the ring finger. Maybe that makes me an average player.

My feet are size 13, I don't know if that indicates that I would make a good clown.
