I'm a ham and have a Heathkit DX-100 100 watt transmitter that still has 11 meters on it (CB), I've never used it on 11 meters but hey...... The thing really gets out too. Weighs 100 lbs too.
I still have my old CB base station-that hasn't been used in 40+ years-a Hy-Gain Utopia. It was already modified with a couple of extra switches that allowed it to get into frequencies that were definitely not permitted. I don't remember what all it could do, but I do recall that in the manual there was a pic of the inside of the radio. There was a 'spot shadow' of a connection that was captioned "do not cut or remove this wire as it will cause the radio to transmit at 40 watts, which is against FCC regulations". Already cut when I bought it. The guy I got it from bought a Yaesu 401(?). Chocolate is strictly off. Odin did throw up last night, and when I saw what happened I had to laugh, sorry. He is luxuriating on my heated mattress pad now as laundry dries. The laundry is coincidental to last night's mishaps.
He's really enjoying being outside and wants to take his toys outside with him.
