Now I am not very knowledgeable about formula 1 racing. In fact the closest I ever got was when I owned a MG-A and TR6 at the same time. The MG-A had the floorboards infested with termites.
But I do remember thoroughly enjoying when Jackie and Sterling we paired as commentators for whatever sport they were assigned. It was even more enjoyable when Dianna Nyad was added to the mix. She was so serious and business like sje would get befuddled when the other two would start their antics. I was convinced that if she ever smiled her face would break. 15 year old's have wide imaginations.
At least this 15 year old did.

In everyone's well reasoned and insightful thoughts opinion, who was the "better" of the two as to being a British National Treasure?

Sterling Moss
Benny Hill (not to be confuse with Graham Hill)

Douglas Bader.
Seriously.

"Typical French" :roflmao: Wouldn't it have been easier with a 'GoPro'?:bag:

That was the GoPro of the day! :roflmao:

That does sound nice. Price is a no brainer as well.

Don't let the guitar fool you. It's an old inexpensive instrument. The mic is certainly helping.

There's a guy (Baxendale Guitar) that took this one and rebuilt it from the ground up, making improvements such as changing the bracing and redoing the neck. They wind up sounding great and playing well. A lot of luthiers now specialize in doing these "conversions", it's high profit.

And reporting here this "Tuesday" from the driver's seat in a Mouse/Kelly/Griffin flying eyeball Mercedes-Benz gullwing coupe that while it may look good standing still it's made to Go. Fast.

Here as I take coffee wonder when the fox kits will present themselves again. Someone got skunked last night and it wasn't Odin. No there are no skunks in Ireland but it's a very funny tale to share there.

I find it interesting that it's spelled Butcher Hollow but many pronounce it Butcher Holler.

'Holler' is the colloquial for 'Hollow'.
Natives of Appalachia might not even recognize 'Hollow' in that context! :)

It's a very common usage here in the Southern US.

"Where the sun comes up about ten in the mornin'
And the sun goes down about three in the day"
From You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive by Darrell Scott

Pretty much how it is in Appalachia.

Pretty solid.

So while I setting up this Jazz bass my visitor for no apparent reason blurts out "You know you cannot play blues on a piano". I very carefully removed my Capo, moved every screwdriver, allen wrench, and anything else that could be considered a sharp instrument or implement of torture, leaned back and quietly said "You don't say?". And mistakenly asked him why he would ever say that, with me sitting in the same room. He answered, quite seriously "Because you can't bend notes." I responded in a controlled easy voice "Then I guess George Gershwin, Mose Allison, Professor Longhair, LeeMichaels, and others have been doing it all wrong for the 100 years or so?" And he answered "Yup". My daughter was listening to this at my door immediately grabbed his elbow and dragged him to the front door and told him "I think it is time you leave". When she came back shaking her head I said "I didn't know you were such a fan of the blues?" She answered "I'm not, can't stand it! I just didn't want to have to clean up the mess!" Smart girl. Makes me go Hmmmm? many times.
Just had to get that out. First visitor I have had in quite a while and it had to be a id,,,, well him.
So! How was everybody's day?

Dr. John would have definitely disagreed with your guest's comment regarding the blues.

R.I.P. Dr. John.
