Yes, Fort McMurray to be more precise. The way things are going the whole city will be gone. 88000 folks homeless. it is really sad. The loss of wildlife and tree canopy is tragic.

That's what I thought I heard, then they said it's grown to larger than Chicago and I started listening. Those in the area will be devastated, even if their home survives the fire there will be a lot of smoke damage and likely unemployment.

I don't care what drugs other people take. As long as they don't steal my junk to buy them, which has happened to me. Luckily, they took my wife's immuno-suppressants, so if they tried to party on that, they destroyed what little immune system they had left. Note sure what value it is besides making a cut list. But it may have other value, and it's a no install which is nice. It just runs when twice clicked upon in Windas. Anyone use it?

I didn't get to play with them, I mean boxnotes, much yet. I was doing some testing last night. I did notice her, I mean the, measurements are external dimensions. I'll look at them, I mean it, again later today and let you know how they feel. I mean how well it works. I feel distracted.

Mowed the dambid lawn, now I'm sore and grumpy.
OK, I looked at Boxnotes a bit, and at first I thought I'd have to poo poo it because it was off quite a bit from winISD old ver where you can enter box dimensions. I missed entering the thickness in Boxnotes, then checked with the zero thickness result against Volume Calculator or Volume Calculator for short. Of course had to use google calc to convert to cu ft. After adding the box thickness (and double clicking the volume box in boxnotes), it came out to 4 cu ft. Entered those dimensions back into winisp and clicked optimum, and it is very close:
So that part seems to work well, and that needs to work to make a cutting list that is accurate. The cutting list is not a big deal, but neither is downloading and running boxnotes, since it does not install.
Should be good for the math challenged and for people like me who are good at math, but make simple dyslexic errors and have to check and recheck everything I do. That is why I keep the old winISD on hand, because it helps with the inside volume of the box without subtracting the volume of outer dimensions. The cutting list:
It also accounts for the driver based on half it's depth, which seems like a half guess, but beats dropping your driver in water to see how much it displaces
Not sure how it accounts for bracing, might just be a guess. I would rather that be gone unless it has an adjustment. There is a user guide, more of a howto: Boxnotes User Guide

It also factors in one shelf brace with material removed, leaving a square section perimeter and cross through the centre." There is a pic showing the brace they calculate from.

Friggin cool! I have read a few of the WINisd or is it winISD threads.. I find it interesting, even though I don't see myself building any cabs, due mainly because I have no wood working tools or shop of sort! But has always intrigued me is all of the wood bracing that folks use to build a strong cab.. I have often wondered about using alum. angle iron.. (yeah I know, it ain't iron at all, but I digress).. saves volume and should be stronger!

WinISD has a pretty good section for calculating driver displacement, or at least it agrees well with published manufacturer specs I've seen.

Yes, I had an erector set as a child. And I like Rube Goldberg. Don't care for McGuyver so much. Those are sealed mids, so don't need a box, old lab stands work fine No one got hurt, but sooner or later, I'll need to drill 5" holes in something to mount Tonight more of the same.

I'll be out in the shop with proper tools. Only time I get hurt with proper tools is with grinders. I got a nice gash on my forearm from a Jeep, a cut off tool and an angle grinder. It didn't even bleed, just smirked at me. It went for my throat, but I grabbed it by the tail and it went into a heavy flannel shirt, popping its circuit breaker and it died. It got a couple more bites in on my chest on it's way out. I've worn out three Makita's, and that's the only one that tricked me.
