Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Was on the porch watching the full moon rise.

Made me recall a lyric I wrote a few years ago as an exercise in imagery.

The Wizard Works Tonight

clouds pass between his failing eyes
and the bright Hunters Moon
he draws down its' energy
he’ll draw his circle soon
on an altar made of solid oak
he’ll lay his magick tools
and through the incense rising smoke
he’ll glide the tarots’ fool

“Hear my cry My Maiden
My Mother and My Crone
for the greatest rite I have not worked
comes not while I’m alone”
Earth and Water feed his desire
on this waxing night
in the chilling Air and by candles Fire
the Wizard works tonight

the waning days have passed on by
as the moon returns from new
did he see her yesterday
in the steam of his cauldrons’ brew ?
perhaps tonight by the Maidens’ grace
he’ll know the very night
and on that night he’ll know her face
and work the fertile rite

“Hear my cry My Maiden
My Mother and My Crone
for the greatest rite I have not worked
comes not while I’m alone”
Earth and Water feed his desire
on this waxing night
in the chilling Air and by candles Fire
the Wizard works tonight

now Mother is full and beyond stone walls
wind carries passionate cries
the Wizard and his mortal maiden
work the greatest rite

You should set that to music! :)

A Boo back atcha!

An exercise in imagery seems to require something that doesn’t get in the way of the words.

Live music on sort-of-live Zoom. Or something. Everyone must have a green screen here in May 2020. Look up the 'Tube "A Liberal Redneck Sketch - "Dumbas*es Plan a Lockdown Protest" (Trae Crowder, Liberal Redneck). NSFW. :roflmao:

Little Richard has passed at 87. He hasn’t been in good health for years.
The Beatles were on the same bill and opened for him in Hamburg Germany. Richard travelled with a kid who played keyboards, that was Billy Preston. His old association brought him back for a visit whe they were recording. Billy was credited as a co-writer of Get Back. May 8th 2020 was the 50th anniversary of the release of the Let It Be album.

I find it hard to reconcile missing Little Richard with missing all the folk who are dying off in droves in our Nursing homes and long term care facilities. Just this week our area has lost four PSWs and sadly they won't be the last. The drawing Banksy produced showing a kid with all his SuperHeroes in the trashcan playing with a Nurse action figure nailed it for me!

That said RIP Little Richard!

They opened the graveyard today to the public as a special exception for mother's day. Despire the biting cold (I wore my winter parka), there were people there tending to graves but not in any way were they in close proximity. Based on what I saw, mandatory closing of these sites is one health restriction that seems to be way over the top.
