Gmornin and happy Friday to all. I made myself all achey yesterday wrenching on a lawn tractor, so I gonna be likd Brer Rabbit and lay low today.

There's always something to fix isn't there. I need to prep for painting the kitchen but just can't seem to bring myself to start this morning. Still in pain from regrouting the bathroom tiles. At least that job turned out well.

A few days ago I was wearing a hat, coat, and scarf. This morning I was out in shorts and a t-shirt. There was a misty rain making the greenery smell like spring growth. The trees are budding, the leaves have that light green look. A rabbit was out enjoying the tender ferns and wild flowers.

The number of people wearing masks have increased in the past few days to the point where people without them stand out. The authorities are pushing for everyone to wear them. Some grocery stores are requiring masks if you want to enter. We're going to try making some cloth ones on the weekend.

I took this pic of my new neighbors on the seventeenth of April. When I was driving out of the valley I live in this morning, I saw one cross the road in front of me. It seems that the two adult armadillos that I spotted around the place the past two years went and had a litter...

They didn't used to be here. They've obviously been working their way North. Five years ago I saw one at the lake I most frequently fish which is located in a wildlife preserve. It ran across my path after I had gotten off the lake and pulled my boat up on the ramp. That was the first time that I had seen a live one in our county.

A friend of mine carried a handbag made from an actual, taxiderminated, armadillo. I want to tell you, she is a gal who gets noticed when she enters the room. Finished her masters in molecular chemistry at the Sorbonne, too. Very cool chick, her specialty was optical glass. She was not overly impressed with the quality of West German optics (like my Leitz lenses).

Wow! Scary.

In my last post I lied. I forgot my first band was 6th grade in Wrangell. We played the Monkees and Beatles. By the time I was a freshman, it was my first serious band in Sitka, where I switched to bass.

My first paying gig was around ‘63. It was a house party and all the food we could eat. We could make a good noise but couldn’t play very well.
