Very nearly my favorite song in the whole wide world, that one is.
EDIT: Well, in certain types of popular music.

Now, now, mustn't forget Comic Sans. Or was that MicroSoft? The entire point of a tabloid newspaper (as explained to me) is to be easy to read on public transit. The content in a tabloid is similarly considered.
The problem with publishing to a multiplicity of devices is any notion of typographical standards is as dead as a really tired metaphor. Type has a voice. Apple gave typography to the unwashed masses and the result is Souvenir.

And, of course, the problem was never Apple or MS. It was the refusal of people to educate themselves. They had, in the Mac's case, a whiz-bang tool that could easily make horrocious-looking dreck very quickly, and the uneducated churned it out by the ream. Why use two fonts when there are twenty more?Yea Comic Sans is MS.
Imagine if you're a rat grade editor at a rat grade paper assigned to the weekly religion page. Imagine wading through "press releases" composed by, well, Karens. Karens with a Mac and Quark xPress.
Everyone knows Pan Am and I Dream of Jeanie Bold Extended. Few know how to use the typefaces properly.
I cut my typographical teeth on the Speedball Textbook 20th Edition.
Apple also killed the music store with iTunes. Some say that they saved the music business with another revenue source. Now iTunes is dead, streaming is in.
Recently Apple introduced AppleNews. A subscription based digital clearing house for papers and magazines. Even better, they will determine what articles you should read. They want to control what we think, do, and say. We don’t have to wait till the year 3535.
Like we're even gonna reach 2525. Some couple on a distant planet will look up and see a 'shooting star'. Guess who.
Oh yes. The ancient Greeks and Romans despaired of their yutes. Seems the only thing that changes is technology.Out of interest, I looked up the events of 500 years ago. It seems that the world had their arms up over one thing or another. Things don’t change.

“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”
― Socrates
Oh he met me, then?

At least no ongoing war between the Gibson and 7ender camps. Can’t wait for 500 years to pass. All it will take is a virus to do us all in.
