We may have fancy computer typographical command but making words in granite is still around.

Like in the Flintsone days.

Real old, old school newspaper.

Fun Flintstone Fact:
Q: Why did Fred Flintstone only have three toes on each foot?
A: From using his feet to stop his car.

They do that with computerized laser equipment now...

I was today years old when I learned this. When I last looked into the subject, a stone memorial with raised letters is much more expensive than one with carved letters. Twenty-five years this month is how long since alerted to the cost.

So, some things are 'written in stone'?

“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”

― Socrates
Where does that quote come from?

I think this quote is actually from Adrian Socrates, from Tarpon Springs, FL (the fisherman, not the philosopher)....

You do know Bill & Ted Face the Music comes out this summer, speaking of Socrates

Wednesday (whatever that is) is as good a day for a proper grump

because I'm freshly back from the doctor's office and a diagnosis of moderate arthritis in my left elbow. Not a great deal to be done. There's physical therapy, and a brace. Have instructions for the PT, and some complimentary surgical tube. On the plus side (I guess?) the x-ray technician remembers me. Pretty much the same arthritis that took both knees and a foot.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

Arthritis is a fierce adversary- osteo arthritis in my dad's knees ended his love affair with Vibes when he was in his mid-fifties. By the time he was 61, it had undone the benefits of restorative surgery on his fretting hand, and that was the end of his career as a guitarist and teacher.

???

I just looked that up, trying to figure out what you're rabbiting about.

I thought it might have been some arcane movie reference, but my Google Fu is drawing blanks...

I am also at a loss from what the phrase Jeff Scott wrote means.

All I will say is I avoid everything, including wild rabbits, from entering my "donkey"....if you know what I mean....
