When it comes to my own relationships with things, my overwhelming preference is for things made to create. Oh you know, like musical instruments ... and many more. Do I know artists who disregard their tools? Certainly. It's a relationship, one way or another, the same way we have relationships with our cars.

Imagine being the 19-year-old owner of a brand new orange VW Golf (1975). The things it did, and the other things it did ... so that's a relationship ... fun and infuriating :help:

Yep, there are two instruments I'd like to try. One is the Ibanez Talman TMB30 shorty, despite the fact that it's a PJ. But it's gotta be the ivory one. It's just cool-looking to me, with the body shape, the control plate, the weird headstock. The other is the G&L Tribute Series Fallout shorty, and I'd want the black one there, though I generally don't care for black guitars or basses. I'm not going into any stores anytime soon, though, and probably by the time I felt safe to do so I'd have long forgotten about both of them.

Well, in a way I'm kinda tryin' and buyin' :laugh: I'm going to play the SR1200L for a month and if I can't make it work for me it goes up for sale. I paid more than I like but given it's kind of rare I think I'll recover most of my investment. Buuuuut..... it may just impress me yet. I think the thrill was more in the hunt and capture than..................?

My understanding with the Talman TMB30 is the neck may be a lot beefier than I'd care to play. I'd have to try before I'd buy. Yes the local brick and mortar is an Ibanez dealer but here we are wondering if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands.

The Tribute Fallout looks like a win to me. I like the look of the rosewood fingerboard but don't so much like the look of the black or oly white. :meh: The surf green is attractive to me until I reach the logical point of what I can wear with a surf green bass. That comes down to play a black bass (with tort :eyebrow: ) and wear anything, or play a surf green bass and wear black. :meh: The oly white one makes me think of some Italian-American GOF in a function band.

That leaves the candy apple red ... maybe ... that was my first instinct, candy apple red.

Wow! To me it's drop dead gorgeous. But ummmmm, I wonder if they'll make it lefty????? Thanks for sharing @beans-on-toast !

I like that it has a battery compartment! About time on the higher end models!

Actually I'm bouncing plastic on my newest bass. If I sell it I'll probably just pay off the card..... before the Carey finds out! :eek:

AFIK black, olympic white, surf green, and candy apple red sound alike :rolleyes:

.... actually I do pick a bass, in large part, for its looks.
