The music nib of an ink pen is close in function to an italic nib. The music nib was always a specialized offering. They were more likely to be found as screw-in replacement nibs in budget lines like Esterbrook

A music nib typically has two slits, and possibly a different feed for greater ink flow. A stub nib, properly tuned, can do the job of music notation too.

It makes me wonder what kind of pen Mozart used. He seemed to be lacking in penmanship. He probably worked in a hurry to get his ideas down. He probably had help with such menial tasks.

I've no doubt there were musical scribes, same as word scribes. Probably in the church, music scribe meant apprentice. An early form of unpaid internship, I'd wager.

They made their own ink. And sharpened their own quills before metal nibs were perfected.

I once had a .pdf of one page of a manuscript of a Beethoven "novelty" song I once sang for my voice teacher in a concert. Wow, how it ever wound up in a printed, readable form is a minor miracle. I could sit with my commercially-printed music and slowly figure it out by looking back and forth between the two, but it was real work to do it. Bach's hand is much easier for me to read than Beethoven's. Of course, we're spoiled with perfectly-produced music. And back then, they might have gotten a slightly more legible version from the composer's copyist. And they might have been much better readers than we are today, too.

Number one rule. Performers need to learn to smile. It makes a difference. I know that they are concentrating but they need to get over that.

The Artec humbuckers give a nod to the Filter'Trons of past, too. It's the blue burst whut sealed the deal for me.

Pleased to report rubbing alcohol and a makeup pad took out the purple writing below my knee (that's been there almost three weeks now). Really scary for me to look at my Frankenstein'd foot, and managed a shower! YAY. Let's see how long the Eucerin that never touched my strings will last with daily foot treatment

Whulp, apparently EBMM will supply a correct preamp and pickup if the originals are sent to them. Gleaned this the other day here on TB. There are three local luthiers to my knowledge, and one that's allegedly quite good an hour west of here. Coming, coming around.

I have a large Frankenstein scar on my forehead. The only evidence of it now is a trough when I wrinkle my face. Good because other scars elsewhere want to remain prominent.

How did the incorrect original preamp and pickup find it’s way into the EB?

The preamp etc. are untouched since new. What I suspect is with the corrosion on the bridge the damage may be deeper. The output is very low, and none has found a solution yet.
