Fun with tools! Good that those stains on the back of the board aren’t blood.

Yep, not a drop of blood spurted out of me. Now, if only those chisels were a lot sharper, it would have taken a tenth the time to make that channel. I did read up on how to sharpen chisels, but the time and all the stuff needed to do it properly just wasn't going to happen. There we were, a nice piece of wood, a large claw hammer, an old set of chisels and a sawhorse and clamps, etc. I needed to do the deed NOW! I am a very patient sort. Really (uh-huh).

We were shown how Mrs. Winchester simply closed the portion of the house damaged by that quake, and never opened those rooms again. The tour of the gardens at the Winchester Mystery House is a separate admission fee.

I’m doing something now with a scraper that gives me about five good strokes before it needs sharpening. Sharp is great but keeping it that way takes some work. I have all the sharpening stuff. Recently bought a glass plate and 3M sticky back micro paper. Have yet to try it.

Yep. Nothing like a good old horse-powered saw to keep the blood where it belongs. Reminds me of a Woody Allen line, "Blood! That should to be on the inside?" (Bananas)

I do cut myself often enough when working with tools.

After extensive tests, turns out this product is the goto one.

Here's a short 3 minute clip of the gentleman who invented an "instant stop" table saw, demonstrating it on his own finger.

Spoiler: He's perfectly fine, but for those who know what mayhem a table saw can do, and those that have no solid idea, the video will make you a little squeamish. At least raise your heartrate.

Speaking of all this electric gas stuff, here we have an example of two electric candlesticks from the early part of the last century. I understand these sold a couple years ago on the 'bay for $2051!

An interesting approach. If the tower is taken out, multiple stations go off air. One complaint about these installations is that they’re a blight on the skyline. As are cell towers. Not in my neighbourhood often comes up when new installations are proposed.

Like many over the air TV transmissions, radio will eventually be replaced with digital fiber optic delivery.

My grandparents had those on their walls. I always thought that old stuff was cool. Knob and tube wiring bacK then was not so cool and could lead to fires.

I always wondered, what if your hands are very dry. Sometimes touch screens don’t respond to a finger touch, you have to dampen them to get the screen to work.
