If you piled all your mis-matched slippers together, can Odin separate them into proper matching pairs (assuming, of course, you still have complete matching pairs of slippers to do this with)?

The right slipper of red-pink knitted fabric over a fuzzy middle is only modestly gnawed. The matching left slipper went to the great beyond, shredded most eagerly. The surviving right slipper with a fuzzy navy instep lost its other half in similar manner. Both pairs replaced another pair of slippers that made for wonderful Odin toys. Socks, too are in constant peril here

Do you have a small dog? For years we've had large dogs. Talking 100 pounds. They went through a chewy stage when they were young but quit chewing about a year in. On the other hand, my mother in law's three 15 pound yappers loved to tear up all socks, slippers, and other items of clothing. It seems more characteristic of smaller dogs.
Shadow, our last 85 pound angel, died of old age last year. As we're both getting older, we are looking for a dog around 25 pounds but with a super mellow personality. Don't want a yapper or mini dog on steroids. Some small spirit that will sit on Carey's lap and quietly keep each other company....

Odin's a standard poodle, about 50 pounds. It's not that he's a chewer (he is). What's going on when I lose a slipper is I fail to pay attention when he asks and pay the price. You might even go so far as to say he can be petulant! He is very loving. And he has more than plenty chewies around the house. What he wants is me and if I don't respond quickly, well ...

What I observe — and having known no mean number of dogs in my 64 years and counting — is a standard poodle is unlike any other breed I've ever met. They are rather choosy about who they bond with, and when they do it is very deep.

He adores the heated mattress pad! So do I, actually. It plays well with the Hudson's Bay point blanket.

They are unquestionably one of the smartest breeds I've ever run across and I think most all dog experts would rank them very high if not highest in intelligence. I have met one or two who were working dogs and they were fiercely loyal and incredibly capable in executing their duties.
Maybe it's the organizations I've worked around, but German Shepherds have always been my favorite and most of my life there has always been one close by. They can be aloof, are very smart, and typically select "their person" even when bonded closely to an entire family. While they do not warm up to people quickly, once you're "in the pack" they form strong attachments.

has been a big problem since the day I came home from surgery tracking blood and mercurochrome all over the house. Nothing more he wants than to lend in with the healing.
Just mention Hudson's Bay blanket and slippers in a post and within minutes this comes up at the top of my TB page. That's scary.
