Oh absolutely, I knew him and he certainly knew me. Not besties or anything but in my experience a real gentleman and good guy. Talk to him any time I wish, we know each other by name <shrug> It's very unclear to me at what point it's best not to mention such things as I'm not taken by celebrity. Those circles are most familiar to me nonetheless, and it kind of scares me a little bit to think whose attention I held (for there are many I can equally claim to know me) :angel:

edit. What else I recall he said to me is a bassist who can sing will get the gig over the bassist who can't. And he was very clear with me about the importance of singing for bass playing skill.

Thanks, I hope I didn't force you just that he's been a hero to me since I was a teenager, for me he was probably the best hard rock bassist who ever lived and he's right about singing, he had a great voice.

The old road manager for Mott the Hoople threw up on his friend's rental car after leaving a party of mine. :)

Now that I think of it, IIRC, they both threw up on the car. :laugh:

Fortunately, during the party, they were both on their best..., well, that's the wrong word. They were stinkin' drunk and having a great time do so.

Here they are being on their best behaviour (NOT)! :roflmao:

A relative won a contest in the 60's to name a morning juice. They gave him some free juice. Fifty-six years later, the product is still on the market. It reminds me of studio musicians who would be paid a flat rate of a few bucks per song. The top tier ones got $20-$40. Songwriters can be set up for life with just one song. That's why producers or performers would want to take 50% for doing nothing.

Always someone out there taking advantage of others.
