I ask for Tabasco because Tabasco is universally understood as "hot sauce". What is brought to the table is another thing entirely. I recall a hash house that served hot sauce in a squeeze ketchup bottle. I find Angry Chili Lady's Spicy Chili Crisp goes with just about anything. But I'm not taking a bottle of it with me to dine out.
I've seen little single serving bottles of Tabasco(can't remember where, though)
EDIT: I googled Tabasco. The little ones are listed as "personalized miniatures"-$249. for 500!:rollno: Nope.

Red peppers, salt, and distilled vinegar.
Right you are. Home made Franks recipe.............

20 tabasco or serrano chiles, stemmed and cut crosswise into 1/8-inch slices, or 12 very ripe red jalapenos (about 10 ounces)

1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic

3/4 cup thinly sliced onions

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

2 cups water

1 cup distilled white vinegar

I scored a load of those single serving bottles. They were absolutely perfect for my weekly Chicago - Seattle runs. American Airlines served a decent (if somewhat warmed-over) cheese omelette, hash browns, toast, orange juice and coffee in economy class

My grandfather, raised in Carlow, came here in 1916...wouldn't have cabbage in the house...said the smell of it cooking made him sick. On the other hand, a meal wasn't allowed without potatoes. He was a grim man...don't think I ever once saw him smile. Only thing he really seemed to care about was horses.

A ray of sunshine to cheer you grumps up a little bit. Let those little snots run across your lawn today!

Took a ride on the scooter this morning, cloudy and low 40s. Captured this ray of sunshine on Lake Lavon near where I live.

I grew up in NYC South(Miami). Plenty of good Delis.
An aunt and uncle of my SO's used to live in Ithaca, NY (they were researchers/profs ant Cornell). They had moved to South Florida (Naples, I think), but after a couple years they moved to San Francisco. They left Florida because they couldn't find any good (or even bad) Chinese restaurants there.

There are very definitely good Chinese restaurants in and around San Francisco. The best one I discovered there was in Japantown ....
Never been to Japantown in SF (have been to Little Tokyo and Koreatown in L. A., though). We've found the best restaurants in Chinatown (SF) were the ones the touristas would never even think of walking into. We did have a favorite bakery in L. A.'s Chinatown. We'd always stop into Chinatown on our way back from the San Gabriel Mountains which we hiked frequently. Real easy to get to going south on the 110 (Hill Street exit, by Dodger Stadium).

After a two-stage archaeological excavation of my bedroom, I found my DD-214! I knew that sucker was somewhere in there. :D I've recently learned that it is fairly standard procedure for companies to force employees off of their group health care plans when said employees qualify for Medicare (I'll turn 65 on the 30th). My employer is doing this (and paying my Medicare premium in a roundabout way), so I was thinking that I'd need a Medicare supplement plan. After conversing with two brothers at church today who have been relying solely on the VA for their health care for years, I discovered that a supplement policy isn't necessary for us. We have an excellent VA hospital in the town where I work. Almost cured me of my grumps... ;)
