The tablet-ly thing I hauled all over eternity and back gave up an taibhse (the ghost). I was looking for a diagram of the pickup dimensions of my Chowny CHB-1. What I know (because I asked) is the TV Jones don't quite fit. What's left of that poor mind of mine is all over-thinking this ... just imagining helping a good bass on its way to being a great bass.

What's a fact, respective of any bass' alleged greatness, is a dead tablet. Blue screen. The keyboard docking station bit the dust around March. Got what I needed from it with a Bluetooth keyboard. Looked everywhere for the schematic on my desktop. Wherever I put it, it isn't here. Where it was, was on the Chowny thread :woot: The tablet-ly thing is dead, dead, dead.

And I'd considered reviving it just for the music stand, to make watching video easier. I rolled back the stone to the tablet-ly cave and it :spit: me
but sure served me well over the years.

That's the thing with craptops. When they die, they really die. Not even worth the trip to see Miracle Max.

Counting several / many hundreds of dollars to put a new tablet-ly thing on my music stand. With like music scores and all. Staying with the desktop and with the smrtphn. Pickups > computer tablets.

Once we successfully get past the must-haves of shelter and sustenance, life really is just managing the tradeoffs of the nice-to-haves. If it's not one thing, it's another...and life rolls on.

I'm slowly collecting my nice-to-haves before I pull the trigger within the next two years. Actually seems to be getting harder to get up and go to work nowadays. Find myself enjoying watching TV with Carey in the morning instead!

That's how the r* word sets in with us aged and aging folk. Next thing you know every television in the house is turned to a weather channel.

New toy for Odin?

I've made a dub of "Get Back" from a cassette. This was recorded live at the Marco Polo Hotel in Miami Beach in 1982. We did it as a medley with "I Just Want to be Your Everything" leading into "Get Back". I cut all but the last chorus of "....Everything" so the transition is in there.(Yeah, it's a little long, about 4 minutes. Playing for dancers).
Sounds really great, Plaid. I could hear you guys putting "Miss You" in the mix, too. That's the only Stones song I've ever played in front of an audience, paying, or otherwise.

I would have liked some gear, instead I just blew $2K on a dental crown.

Ask me if I bust a tooth on bloody popcorn on Sunday......Go on....ask me.....ASK ME!.....:sour:

I feel for you. For me it was pizza.

Crown after fried chicken.

Chicken and dumplings many years ago.

Vanilla wafer.
All 'y'all gotta stop eating!

I could see that with my mother! :woot:

A fully loaded tablet can cost as much as a laptop these days.

Sometimes pickups can be retrofitted with minimal work. If the TVJones is just a bit bigger, you might be able to buy a spare plastic ring from Chowny (or the pickup manufacturer) and enlarge it to fit the new pickup. TVJones also sells universal rings and adapters that allows you to mount their pickup to your instrument.

If you want to get really fancy, you can get a wooden pickup ring and matching knobs similar to what this site offers: Order Humbucker Pickup Rings

If the instrument requires routing, things can get complicated.
