Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I thought having "a positive sress test" was a good thing. I felt pretty positive about it. No dizziness, headache or nausea that they warned me about. Didn't have to run the treadmill anymore, due to previous back surgery, so I didn't even get short of breath. I thought I did real well!

But then, my GP explained that it was "positive" because it indicated probable blockages! And he ordered me some nitro pills! He seemed puzzled that I've never had any chest pains. I was puzzled at the dire diagnosis while actually feeling pretty good. I doubted my feelings.

The cardiologist was very tactful after the angiogram. Said he would have lost the bet! There are no blockages and my heart is strong. My feelings are vindicated! Apparently it's rare, but the stress test imaging can get a shadow of the diaphragm across the bottom of the heart, leading to a false diagnosis. (Plus, I hear it's a very old imaging machine, soon to be replaced.)

I know I should be grumpy about all the worry of a few days, but my elation at the end result cannot be subdued. Even the continued soreness of the wrist, instead of the groin(!), is totally acceptable at the moment!

Oh, and got the 2nd covid shot, too. Man! "... ev'ry-thing's comin' up roses!";)

Surely, Shirley, fate must have some major catastrophe in store for me to balance this lucky run!:atoz::oops::sorry:
.
Great news! Run away and be happy.

Pay no attention to that dark cloud over yonder or that faint, just-beyond-the-edge-of-recognition, "Jaws" theme music. Oh, and put the nitro pills away in a cabinet somewhere.

They had all kinds. The salesgirl insisted on providing the full tour. I figured that the kid must be new on the job so I indulged them.

At the low end they were thin plastic that I could bend. There were wooden ones, ones with gold plating, ones with coins embedded in clear plastic, padded ones, painted recycled wood ones, ones with self closing anti-slam lids, long ones, short ones, open front, ones with baby adapters, ... Top of the line was a bidet lid that required dedicated plumbing.

All this reminds me of a family member who when painting the bathroom, decided to paint the toilet seat to match the walls. He didn’t take into account the long drying time of an oil based paint. He had to repaint the seat and clean himself up with paint thinner.
What, no Custom Shop relic jobs?

The last two toilets that I purchased were mature-user models...a couple of inches taller than stock.
I find them more comfy and compared to the old ones, I no longer feel as though I am sitting on a child's porta potty.
The seats are the pro-model quick-release for sticking in the dishwasher when ....well, you know. (J/K)
Well...us seniors here have finally resorted to Crapperchat®️
Edit: changed name.
And...great bandname

Woohoo! Just signed off on a contract for a new solar array for our house. Semi-local company, same ones that did the array for the shelter five years ago. At that time, the boss's wife answered the phones and his mom handled the sales. Today they're almost nationwide. So we get an 20 panel 8.5 kw system, roof mounted on the garage, for $15,000 out the door.

I have a gas 2 cycle and an electric weedwhacker and I hate all of them because the string always breaks and I have to re-feed it. I saw a head from Echo that eliminates the BS, but of course, it won't work on either of mine and I don't want to buy a new one, so I usually let it go until it annoys me enough to do something about it.

The EGO is pretty easy to load. Cut one length of line, feed it cross ways through the head, then twist the head to wind it up. They have a newer version that is auto wind. I hated the gas weedeater loading - had to cut two lengths of line, push both into place then wind both lines together on the spool, attempt to snap the spool in place while poking the lines through the holes in the head hoping the line doesn't unwind on you.

Good for you! :hyper:

I had an EKG years ago as part of the annual phy exam. Doc said I had PVC and wanted me to see a heart guy. He said PVC is common and most don't even know they have it and not to worry too much. Then why the heart guy? So I went, stress tests, echo cardiogram, etc. etc. The heart guy comes in and says "you have weak heart" then turns around and starts walking away. Hey, hey, HEY! Come back here! He said my ejection fraction was borderline low but didn't explain what that meant. Then he walked out. I had to get a PA to explain what it meant which was the volume of blood inflow compared to outflow. I went back for a follow up about a month later and ended up talking to the head guy who founded the practice. I expressed my displeasure with the first doc. He took the time to carefully explain everything. Adjust your diet, get exercise.

And stop calling me Shirley.

We did that a few years ago. Kohler calls them "comfort height. My wife's dad has the standard height with a round seat. It makes a job out of doing the job.

In the home stretch on the coffee table. Finished the top today. Used clear poly on the bare edges. The clear was several years old and had yellowed but it looks good! Need to get cherry stain for the other places that were cut.

...he got a contraption for getting rid of snow...

My car had a grand time going to the grocery this morning after sitting through the winter. I’m done schlepping bags in the cold and snow for another year! It felt so good to be driving that I celebrated by going to Home Depot and bought a new toilet seat.
For the car? :eyebrow:

Hopefully, you won't be pushing up the roses! :cautious:

The nice new garage will be able to take the weight of the panels. Will you have excess energy to sell to the power company? Always nice when they have to pay you.

For long trips, there’s the Little John Urinal, also available is the Lady-J Adapter. Available at pilot supply shops.

Ehrm now that this is presented to my memory again

It begins on a Bermuda rigged racing sloop, where as a guest I am also the sole crew member. I mention it is a racing sloop because there is no head on a racing sloop.

The captain shows me a device, when I ask, much like this but of a distinctly a steam-age design. There is a pump .... You use it, you clean it, the captain says.

I mention this is a racing sloop because there are no rails on a racing sloop, either.

Still altogether better than ehrm — the accommodations — in post-op.
