Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I don't know if it was Neil Degrasse Tyson or Stephen Fry who said it, but it was something about wanting to be buried without a coffin or clothes in the wild. So that nature can feed of the human body the same way we fed off of nature.
Between those two, I'd have to guess Fry for that quote by default, because I'm fairly certain I recall seeing an interview with Dr. Tyson in which he discusses cremation as the quickest way to get the carbon in our bodies back into the ecosystem so it can be used by/for other things.

Of course you could always get zapped out of existence for your 30th birthday in a Logan's Run future.
"Renew! Renew!" :woot:

I figured it for a scam from the second the plot set it up. :cautious:

I'm thinking it was NDT where I heard it from, but it may have been that he was relaying some other person's opinion on the matter and not his own.

I don't know that I'll go very far down this particular rabbit hole this late in the evening, but here's a quick clip of Dr. Tyson on the subject:

Oh sorry, I didn't meant to argue over the matter. I'm still not sure either way and you are probably right.

I vaguely remember NDT telling that thing about being buried in his overly dramatic way at a speaking event... but that also could've been Fry.

Oh, no, no argument here! Just trying to sort out my own puzzlement. Sorry if I gave that impression. :wacky:

Makes no difference to me.

Oh, never been to a F1 race.

I haven't been following F1 for many years. I'm into the FIA World Endurance Championship. Would love to attend Le Mans some day.
I've done the Mulsanne Straight in a Vauxhall Carlton Estate at 85 mph with a full load of fishing tackle, bait, a kinda heavy passenger and a rowing boat strapped to the roof....(Matter of principle)......:D

A local distributor in the country has a large tank farm. They add additives and blend their products there. I've seen their trucks delivering to top tier rated stations as well as bargain stations. They have their own stations and they don't carry top tier gas there. I wonder what you are really getting. What controls are in place so that when they deliver to Esso for instance, it is top tier. I wouldn't put it past a station owner to buy a lower quality product for the sake of profit. I know that Shell tanker trucks deliver to Shell stations directly from their refinery.
IME most gasoline becomes top tier (via additives) and company specific when "the bucket of brand specific additives" is mixed in as the fuel in pumped into the tanker prior to delivery. Gasoline at tank farms is typically only specific as regards to its octane rating, not specific brand. My hands-on experience/first-hand knowledge is a bit dated and goes back to my days working for Citgo in the 70's, but I'm relatively sure there has been little change since those days.

This Courvoisier is getting the better of me so pardon me whist I ramble
as if rambling with a bunch of GoFs is an unusual activity

and sometimes clear and sometimes mysterious but always both and that's me
part of the Brown Buffalo in my tale is a certain Colombian who in a moment of insanity guides me on the old F1 circuit of Watkins Glen
It's his father's Jaguar that I never drove
and lest ye be wondering, this event is in very large part something to do with Jerry and the boys at Cornell.
So. If you don't know what happened there, then there isn't a great deal to say. From my personal perspective it looks like

The timeline when I'm freshly ashore in the states with what looks like a world wide open as I sit looking west with ThisGuy from the rooftop of a Cornell <ahem> annex known as The Lizard Ranch.
and

this would be the cognac talking or something
I'm in the states for the foreseeable future, so be it. Will fix ASAP. Grumpy.
this very day as I wrestle one last [strong language] piece of paperwork with ThisGuy's name on it on my bank account*, and am actually typing the email as the phone rings
I see is is from the people in Chicago
can't answer it just this second :bored:
ring back and it's a deal, I'm in Chicago to talk in great seriousity
this is very, very, very good
Not. Grumpy.
Cognac. Plus ;)

This works.

Already thinking what bass to take when I return.

* no impropriety, just paperwork :banghead:

Mmmm...Courvoisier...

"this whole system of yours could be on fire and I couldn't even turn on the kitchen tap without filling out a twenty-seven B stroke six..."

now there ^ is a dystopian future
My mentor in the line of work that I absolutely no longer engage in is known to all as Mr. Phelps. The idea we, too, are the Archibald "Harry" Tuttles IRL is an infectious disease, and doggone hard to cure.

What remains true now is paperwork. Just like cockroaches.
