That's nice to hear.
We will never forget the immense sacrifice of the people that liberated us.

There are lots of WW2 memorials, especially in the Ardennes, where the battle of the bulge took place. We and lots of bikers we know (my clientele) go riding a lot in the general area. And those memorials are always beautiful places to take a rest. Not to gawk at the graves, but sincerely think about fallen soldiers and show respect. Would be cool if I could do more on my part.

My utmost and highest respect for your uncle.
My Dad was there at that time. Luckily didn't 'stay'.

I count an exchange of eight emails to escalate my open ticket to actual human interdiction. That's the same screenshot and detailed explanation written eight different ways in trust someone will read it and understand what is plain as the new day.

Sometimes it looks like we need one of those circuit tracer things for the rogue junction boxes of life.

But oftentimes we find absolutely no continuity, nor conductivity.

If you ask three questions, even with bullet points, they may answer one.

Isn't that what a liberal application of the previously mentioned Courvoisier is for?

Burn, Baby, Burn for us. That's how my dad, mom, brother, left the building.
There would be no one to visit the grave site anyway...no kids of my own and I don't picture my nieces and nephew leaving flowers at a grave site. It would turn into a worse mess than my living existence is.

That's what we are doing assuming we go after my wife's dad. He has a problem with cremation but that's just the way his generation handled things. We get no comfort from visiting a cemetary. It only brings back bad memories for us.

My father used to own a gas station.

He said that all the tankers fill up at the same refineries in Antwerp. It's just that the top brands get first filled when the refinery tanks are full, the cheap brands get the last out of those storage tanks that might not be optimal fuel. Something about the refinery process and what storage does.

It's called BS&W (bottom sludge and water). We just used the normal meaning of B.S. when referring to it.

Additives are added to the fuel during truck filling. So, they not only got the bottom of the tank, they also got no additives.

IME most gasoline becomes top tier (via additives) and company specific when "the bucket of brand specific additives" is mixed in as the fuel in pumped into the tanker prior to delivery. Gasoline at tank farms is typically only specific as regards to its octane rating, not specific brand. My hands-on experience/first-hand knowledge is a bit dated and goes back to my days working for Citgo in the 70's, but I'm relatively sure there has been little change since those days.
I was with Amoco Oil from '79-'89. Amoco Pipeline transported crude and refined products for lots of different oil companies. Some tank farms were company specific; some not. Now they've got ethanol blends to deal with.
