@Bushmaster made a beautiful post about how people in other cultures went of to die. And here I am ruining it with my dark sense of humour.

No problem :)

Well, sadly, it touches upon the topic of genrontocide (killing of elderly), a decadent practice which some cultures seem to be notorious for (including தலைக்கு ஊத்தல் talaikku ūttal, not attempting to sweep this under the carpet).

It is not uncommon for people to get withdrawn already some time before their actual time has come. E.g. sitting by themselves at night instead of sleeping :bag:

Btw, our cats (mostly wild cats and hybrids) didn't get older than 7–14 years, which is the maximum life expectancy for the corresponding species.

I was with Amoco Oil from '79-'89. Amoco Pipeline transported crude and refined products for lots of different oil companies. Some tank farms were company specific; some not. Now they've got ethanol blends to deal with.
Watching a late night fuel delivery. The driver finished the delivery at the Shell, walked up each side of the unmarked trailer, and flipped the flip-over signs to Exxon.

I watch an awful lot of fuel delivery (and everything else) at the airport gate. Observe enough, and pretty soon the entire picture is clear. Anyone who needs any insight on how the military operates need only be an aircraft bum for a while. And the happy news (speaking of an obvious lead-in) my flight to Chicago is booked for July 27 on Delta

Come on over, the SO (herein after, TSO) made some this past weekend.

Good Covid news.

Pfizer has an injectable as well as oral treatment in clinical trails for people that have covid. It is effective against variants and compliments the vaccine. So if you get it, there will be a cure. There are still a lot of people coming down with and dying from this plague. Looks like help is on the way for those infected.

And no help for those that won't vaccinate.:rollno:

Lots of ships arriving.

have your daily tot of rum and almost forget the floggings and the scurvy. Better than to be council house vermin again

Don't let Odin see your tickets, he'll shred them.
He won't be able to come along?

Too traumatic for him to come with for just two nights. I've a sitter, no problem. When I'm gone for a month or so when I return to complete what starts here, that's another story. I'm a wee bit worried there.

We've been told that he doesn't fly. There is lots to eat there that any dog would like.

The 20 Essential Hot Dogs in Chicago

It's the celery salt that seals the deal. Any corner place will do. All the corner places I've visited are awesome. (Checking personal timelines, moment)
Seems to me my very fine employers relocated me from Chicago to Princeton in ... 97? 98? for which they later apologized. They actually apologize :jawdrop: and it's off to Milan.

Lots of folks make a big deal out of Chicago deep dish pizza
:spit:
whatever it is, it's not pizza. What Chicago deep dish pizza is to me is belly bloat in the first degree

Celery "salt" is used as a natural preservative instead of chemical sodium nitrite/nitrate which are deemed not good for you. There's no real difference except with the celery derivative they claim all natural. Something natural that harms you isn't any better than a chemical that does the same.
