Speaking of smells, walking into an apartment building where a lotta cabbage is boiling-or however it was being cooked.I am with you there. I can't stand the texture or the way it smells when it's cooking. PHEW!
or the taste!

It was Zaroxolyn (Metolazone). Never had gout before or since. Don't know if it was because of dosage, or the whole raft of other stuff I take, or a combination thereof. Fortunately, I had the kind of gout that is only extremely painful sitting around, and just short of excruciating to walk on. There are reports that some folks nearly go into orbit just by having someone cause vibrations by walking across the room while they're sitting there. Metolazone: Side Effects, Dosages, Treatment, Interactions, WarningsYikes, which med? My uncle suffered from gout and seriously I don't want it. I've had two heart attacks and a double bypass and am on a raft of meds... I'd seriously like to know which one (or class) did it... PM me if you prefer privacy.![]()
Seriously!Gout and Brussels sprouts
an excellent GoF day!
and a well-meaning person from social services visits regularly, but nothing changes.
There are Americans who reach adulthood without ever realizing there are stupid English people
True. Never stop searching. Even if you don't buy again. The thrill is in the chase.![]()
Yeah, TSO may have something to say about this.... and sometimes you get into trouble.![]()
That ain't me!I know someone who regularly buys antique furniture at the Salvation Army and flips the items for large profits.
Love them!

Not even refinish. The Stickley pieces have good, original finish on them (they don't make 'em like they used to, Mom). The JM Young settee does have some wear in places, but I'm comfortable with that, really. Do need to treat the stuff like they are museum pieces. You wouldn't flip the pieces, maybe refinish.
Most peeps just don't cook them correctly. They need to caramelize a little. Then they're fantastic!Mmm... Brussel sprouts. Hands down my favorite vegetable.Luckily enough my kids all love them too, so when we have people over for supper, they are often surprised to see kids loving them.

Uloric.....Brilliant....Insurers don't like lobbing out for it though because it's expensive....I tolerate Brussel Sprouts, but I love Liver and onions. Unfortunately, (in the true spirit of GOF) it causes my Gout to flare up!!![]()

With 7 kids in the family. We weren't offered a menu....My oldies liked L&O. I tried it.(yuck!) When they had that, Mom would make me a burger.
BothYeah, TSO may have something to say about this.![]()

WitchWhich?
"frosting" on hot cross buns is enough to keep the demons inside. Whatever it is, it ain't frosting
Brussels sprouts were the one and only vegetable the Winslow kids were exempt from eating when we were little. Pa Winslow loved the things, but Ma Winslow hated them. She would make them from time to time only to appease him, but always told us we didn't have to eat a single one if we didn't want to. We never did. Those of you stating your preference for brussel sprouts, I'm not liking any of your posts.
Bunch o' ....'s
I partake of neither. My entire adult life has basically been one long campaign of "You can't make me" defiance against the required-vegetable regime of my youth. There are some who hold that butter beans are far more vile than Brussels sprouts.
