What was our parent's saying that accompanied our finicky whines? "This isn't a restaurant".With 7 kids in the family. We weren't offered a menu....

It's funny how one letter can totally change the meaning of a sentence. Not even refinish. The Stickley pieces have good, original finish on them (they don't make 'em like they used to, Mom). The JM Young settee does have some wear in places, but I'm comfortable with that, really. Do need to treat the stuff like they are museum pieces.

Ketchup supposedly makes eggplant edible for a child. This is patently false. It is the ketchup that is inedible, not the eggplant.
I often use this 'psychology' with the cats when they turn there noses up to a can of food and start to whine. How about "Think about those starving children in...?". Or, "Eat it, or you won't get desert".

"Think of what the cats at the shelter have to eat!"

This is how it should have read (damned non-edit function): No need to treat the stuff like they are museum pieces.![]()

Lingering traces of the aphasia I've carried since 1967 mean there is frequently a difference between what I know I see and what I think I see. Sometimes it's as great an asset as it is a nuisance.![]()
My retired former primary care doctor busted me to Mrs. Tango after I had my physical one year, when she told her that I've got the same excellent hearing as a four-year-old. Then -- damned wimmins -- Mrs. Tango told her, "And the emotional temperament of one, too." Ha, ha, ha. A fine old time they had. But now I can't use diminished hearing as an excuse.I don't have aphasia. I just have selective sight. With my hearing aids, I have selective hearing as well. It's great to see and hear only what you like.
Sure you can. I've played bass since 1967. The precise frequency range that has been lost is the same as that of the human female voice. that's my story-I'm stickin' tuit.My retired former primary care doctor busted me to Mrs. Tango after I had my physical one year, when she told her that I've got the same excellent hearing as a four-year-old. And bacon. Lotsa bacon.
EDIT: Real(not ersatz)bacon bits are acceptable. Lots of 'em.
You were lucky. I was forced to eat it but, I fixed them, I swallowed liver pieces whole. Did the same with kidney.
