Most excellent tune. There is a version on youtube with Victor Borge playing it. He does a wonderful performance then several in the audience start applauding BEFORE the end of the tune. geez.

I'll extend what I did for the school jazz combo early last year. In person classes were cancelled so each week I posted a tune or three for listening each week since folks would have been at school otherwise. The two above were part of that. Stay tuned for developments. Film at 11.

Victor Borge brought classical music to people who would have never strayed near it. There was a lady who explained the Ring cycle in her own Victor Borge style. Probably took as many LPs to explain the plot as to play the entire Ring.

The school I attended in Miami has(had?)what's called the Miami Edison Over The Hill Gang. Every 2 years there'd be a big reunion for everyone who'd 'gradiated' from the school, so we'd have people from classes back to the late 40's. Bit by bit, the numbers were getting smaller each year what with people no longer able to make the trip from all over the U.S. to Miami, and also those who'd passed on. Each year 2 classes would be honored for their 50th. Last year it would have been the classes of 69 and 70. Didn't happen for some reason.
It was interesting going to my 50th(2014)and seeing who showed up and who was even slightly recognizable. Strangely-or maybe not-some of the same cliques were still acting the same way. They may have grown older, but not up. In general the band members are/were less divided.
The school's demographics changed dramatically after 1970, and those 'kids' aren't interested in keeping it going. I'll be surprised if there are any more of the "Big" reunions, just individual classes in smallish get-togethers.

ADDENDUM(b): There have been quite a few weekend get togethers for classes. Always when the band is working. Haven't been to any.

I have limited experience with birds. I owned a Conure for a short time in my 20s didn't take long to realize, that I didn't have the time necessary to keep it. I found it a good home with a family that owned other parrots. I'm glad there are folks like Mikeoso, who take in birds from people who are not good stewards.

I had a conure in an apartment, back in the day. It was intelligent and fun but, when I left to go to work, it screeched so much, the managers threatened to evict me. I had to give it away. They need constant company.

Conures are famous for noise. We currently have 5 of them, along with 5 Senegals, 6 African greys, 3 cockatoos, 14 amazons, 20 macaws, and a frackin partridge in a pear tree.

During feeding I wear OSHA approved hearing protection. OSHA requires them at over 85 db. One cockatoo can generate 112.
