James Joyce's personal letters are a great deal more explicit than any photograph or moving picture show imaginable. Ulysses is one of two books I'm in the habit of carrying around in life. The other one is The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann.
Doctor Faustus is Mann's version of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" with all the elements of earlier Faust legends. A composer makes a deal with the devil and invents twelve-tone. The composer's life story parallels both madness from the advance of his syphilis and the rise of Germany in the 20s and 30s.

Not exactly. I talked on CB with an owner-operator trucker who had a pair of landing lights mounted on the rear 'bumper' of his trailer. He was stopped by a cop once who questioned him about them. He explained that he did a lotta night time deliveries and he used those to see where he was backing the wagon. The cop smiled and said "just don't let me catch you using them for what you really use them for".
Helpful hint: if you're coming up behind a tractor trailer at night with your high beams on, go to low beams. You'll be glad you did.

Odin knows it's bedtime. He's completely stretched out across the width of the bed in full knowledge I won't boot his doggybutt to the floor. When he sleeps on the floor next to me, his head is directly under where I sleep.
Dogs are funny that way. Some like to maintain eye contact or be as close as possible. They also want to be there to protect you.

Well, thank you so much Amazon Prime! I turned on my TV and switched to HDMI Port2 for the Amazon Fire Stick I use for streaming. A big fanfare and announcement ........"please wait while we install the new, improved Fire software." It gets done installing and now the entire format is screwy. All my main favorites are tiny icons. Featured shows and specials are large. Nothing is where it's supposed to be!
Then when I was done with the Fire stick, my one voice command--my ONE VOICE COMMAND-- I use-- "HDMI1" to return to the cable box-- and Fire software says, "Sorry device not recognized. We can't carry out your request." ????????!!!!!!!!????? And this is an update by Amazon for an Amazon product that I use on an Amazon remote for ONE voice command? I can't undo the "upgrade." Now I have to call Amazon to find out why its software doesn't recognize it's own remote control voice commands. Sheesh. that makes me grumpy!
