Yes, exactly. This whole thing is academic for me, but if I were choosing between the two, I'd still take the PF-350 over the 500 because its simplicity is more up my street. I don't need all the extra stuff. I think I'd be able to make it sound the way I wanted it to without all the extras.

With the Rockets (that are ), I might reasonably expect changes to the PF heads. And I'm all in on a 350.

In the shops, a lot of kids cringe when you say cash. They can't make change in their head and need a calculator.

Ampeg used to wire their speaker polarity wires backwards. With any other make of extension cab wired in the standard way, the two cabs would be out of phase and wouldn't sound good together. Use an Ampeg cab and it sounded much better. The fix was easy, just reverse the speaker wires but not many knew about that.

I didn't, but think it's a low-down trick. Pun most definitely intended.

My primary coffee pusher started doing this, and I see little chance it will change When It's Not Going Around For The Moment. Electronic transactions means nobody has to handle someone's manky bills and $deity who knows where they've been
the bills or the people

the upshot is people too poor to carry plastic have to buy cards-for-cash. Which means someone or something wholly unrelated to what would have been a clean cash transaction is making money on the deal

And recently they've determined that getting covid from surfaces or things is not even close to the deal they originally thought. As in, you pretty much need to inhale it in something that someone else has exhaled.

Since banishing Carey to home isolation (COPD, worried about Covid) I've done most of the shopping locally. Honestly I haven't used cash much for years. Even my tips are put on the credit card. We (Carey and I) are starting to make modest outings and I'm so glad she can get out a bit. She's been an absolute sport about isolation but it's getting to her. I think in the Fall we're going to fly to Juneau and I'm going to rent a nice room and buy her an nice dinner. then maybe a movie out.

Took a couple BIG steps today towards my impending retirement/move. My paperwork arrived at the HR center as documented by my Priority Mail tracking number. Also accepted an offer on my house that was damn near $30k over the listing price. Looks like all is on schedule for a June 27th retirement and a June 30th move to Portland, Maine. Also, a NBD this past week. Couldn't pass up the deal on my local CL for this 2019 Fender Vintera 50's P-bass. Gonna be a busy couple of months...

At some point, driving a vehicle is a manual, analog operation.

There is ZERO chance that I'd let a Tesla do my driving for me. Just look at those two dead knuckleheads from last night. One in the front passenger seat. One in the rear passenger seat behind him. No one in the driver's seat. Tesla left the road at high speed, struck a tree and completely burned up (the batteries reignited the fire; the fire department needed 23,000 gallons of water to put the fire out).

It just seems like it is impossible to make those type of things fail safe. And the consequences are too dire.

And they want to put autonomous unmanned semi's on the road.
Can you imagine the carnage?!!

It would be nice if a company would advertise their combo with a power rating that is matched to the internal driver (i.e. how it will actually perform by itself) and then state the power available at 4 or 2 Ohms (whatever it can handle) with external cabs. Of course everyone wants to make their numbers appear as big as possible. So I suspect we'll have to read the fine print to get the real story at least for the rest of my lifetime.

I normally use credit but cash is sometimes necessary.

There are some places that won't accept credit/debit cards under a certain amount. There are other places that I don't trust for fear of them cloning the card or fraud. Locally, the card payment only requirement is gone now. Stores require workers to wear gloves so they have no direct contact with cash. I make cash purchases in a way that I only get back small change, no bills to minimize exposure. The bank claims that the cash from their ATM machines is sanitized.

One shop uses a UV light. All money in or out goes through this disinfecting box. The technology hasn't caught on in stores. I do see UV units sold in hardware stores. They show people using them in their cell phones and other small items.

• A outlet can be an opening for cold air infiltration.
• A burglar can use it to power a tool to break in.
• A burglar can short the outlet, tripping the breaker and disable your room and porch lights if they are on the same circuit.
• Bugs can use it as an open door into the dwelling.
