I shamefully admit that my mouth watered when I read that.
Here's my thing with jello now. After my surgery in 1974 (a bunch of my GI tract removed at the Madison VA hospital), they put me on a clear diet for a couple of weeks. The first meal had green jello. The second meal had orange jello. Every meal after that for the next two f'ing weeks? Red jello. Gag me with a spoon.

I've not eaten jello since.

In AA terms, I've been sober for 47 years...and counting.

Tonight is Chinese from the restaurant take out. Sweet and sour mystery meat, pork chow mien, egg rolls, fly lice, and the obligatory fortune cookie. This is between paydays Friday, no plans except to get rid of recyclables. What are all you GOF's up to this weekend???
Rescue plan has arrivals for two budgies, a sun conure, and a scarlet macaw. Incidently, the conure and macaw are considered among the more spectacular birds anywhere.

Abi the Wife and I are planting native prairie shrub seedlings...100 of them. Aronia, ninebark, nannieberry.

Two of my favorite birds. A third would be the Baretta Cockatoo. The conure, I believe, added to my hearing loss!

Looks like the Mrowers' Garket come Saturday morning. Bones for Odin and who can say what else? I will say what else, come the 'morrow.

Just more practicing tunes for the band I do not have!

Backing tracks, Focusrite Interface and Reaper. At least they do not have other agendas, anal personalities and I do not have to count on them to show up!

I am beginning to think this is my future and I am comfortable with that. I am starting to appreciate why I hung it up all those years ago .

If you’re been eating jello and and not catching a buzz you’re doing it wrong, just sayin’.

I believe that dogs are telepathic, just one look and you usually know exactly what they want. Not all creatures are as stupid as we are, they have a highly evolved ability to communicate.

Certainly I know people who appear oblivious to an animals clearly articulated needs. I don't know why this is so. No readminding is required for me to understand Odin. I've also been around a lot of animals.

You know you’re old when....

you’ve been looking forward all week to Pizza Friday and you don’t want to take the car out because it’s raining.

Call it in! :D

Absolutely stunning beautiful birds. What fulfillment you must get taking care of these creatures..

Hey @Morrighan nothing to add except I love your smile in your new avatar! :)

Hospital food. Yum! :vomit:

In 2019 when Carey was medivaced to U of W Medical Center I ended up staying for the second and third week in the room with her. The "guardian angel" nurses provided me with complimentary meal tickets to the very large cafeteria in the basement. One night, after having a particularly healthy portion of spaghetti with meat sauce I called my lifelong friend in Sitka and told him how delicious the spaghetti was. He got worried and said, "I'm sending out to Olive Garden with some real food for you.. you've been eating hospital food for too long...!

My wife and I are hosting our grand daughters for the weekend. Can’t say baby sitting anymore since they are 12 and 7.

BTW, they used to like my jokes. Not so much anymore. They claim that I tell the worst jokes in the world. Of course, that makes me laugh since my jokes are indeed bad.

You are, indeed, a true Gramps...kids are kids until they are not :).

We of corny/warped humor must stick together. All of my jokes are bad too... :D

We did our favorite Mehican, tonight, which happens to be across the parking lot from one of our favorite Chines restaurants that we like to eat at take out from (this past year, or so).

Not sure about tomorrow, but Sunday (if it's not Rainday) I'm off to the virtual Portimao for the race.

Around here, Olive Garden would be considered (relatively speaking) hospital food! After all, we have Little Italy not too far from here. ;)

Funny how things are named depending on geography. Around these here parts we know Aronia as chokeberry, (I) haven't heard of ninebark, and nannyberry is called sweet viburnum.

Yeah, after my first trip eating the food served on the cardiac floor I had to take survival measures. (Ever had a plain, baked chicken breast with only Mrs. Dash's seasoning (blecch!) to put on it?) Every subsequent trip, and there were way too many, I made sure I had salt packets tucked into my shaving kit, at the least. I've never had blood pressure issues, so I deemed their "let's restrict sodium for everybody" dietary rules as arbitrary and unnecessarily restrictive for precious ol' me. I've also been (un)known to bring packets of BBQ sauce, soy sauce, mustard, and whatever else suits my fancy. I'm such a rebel.
