Back in the day when I could actually metabolize alcohol, I fell in love with this bourbon. Not sure if I got connected to it because of the Kentucky Derby, or what, but I do miss it. No need to spend stupid money for Shangri-La level booze. Just a bottle of Woody and a glass. Dang. Would love to join you in one.

We used to go to Las Vegas once or twice a year. The first few times we flew the hotel/air package thing on an L-1011 with about 200 added seats. It was kinda fun with everyone excited but it got old pretty quick when you had to pull your arms in like a T-Rex to drink or eat a snack. We started flying coach, better but you may or may not get any food and have to pay for drinks. We finally said screw that and we'll only fly first class now. Plenty of room in the seats, food is quite good, and free drinks. Get to board early and watch the steerage passengers go by giving you frustrated, dirty looks.

It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode.

Cholula made my knee replacement recovery modestly tolerable. The tater tot casserole is still disturbing to me.

Went to the FL State Fair today. Sadly, the guy that did the deep-fried bacon wrapped tater tots wasn't there-again.

Going to the Winter Garden, FL, Farmer's market in the AM with my daughter. Not sure after that.
Doing the brunch(?)gig Sunday 9AM , then nada for the rest of May 'less sumpin' comes in. Lotsa time to practice(I won't).

I’m hoping for a sunny weekend, that’s what they who get it wrong predict. It’s was raining for the last couple of days.

Being May 1, there will be Mayday protests. I’m hoping that the cops won’t be rerouting traffic in my neighbourhood. One year I was a couple of hundred feet from the parking entrance but they closed the road and wouldn’t let me turn in. Sometimes protesters get violent, they smash store windows and burn things. Mayday has turned into a day of protesting everything and all the professional agitators come out of their mother’s basements.

I’m hoping to go to BestBuy to check out Samsung TV’s. They have free internet TV channels built in which might be good enough to stop paying for cable. I watch a few shows but otherwise not a lot of TV. I mostly see it as a big screen computer monitor.

With Pizza Friday failed due to rain, it turned into HotDog Friday as a result of all this talk of Lil’ Smokies. I’ll try to make it Pizza Saturday today.

Seinfeld is on the list of shows I never watched, along with Cheers, and a whole pile of others.

"Everybody" said I should watch Seinfeld, and I relented when the show was in reruns. Sort of watched one, unimpressed, said so. Oh that episode, you should watch it again because that wasn't one of the good ones, "everybody" said. Some while later at some hotel somewhere, flipped through and stopped for a moment on Seinfeld. It is the same not-so-good episode I saw the first time. Found something better to do.

Nope. You're not the only one. Never saw Cheers, either. Was travelling so much that keeping up with series was impossible. But did visit the Cheers Bar on the Boston Commons. Total waste of time. Pure tourist trap. Nothing like the set in the show. Nor was the crowd. Nothing but a bunch of 30-something wannabes.

But I do fondly remember All In The Family and MASH nights. Friends and family for both.

One of the first series cause such a fuss? Bonanza! I don't know if it was the first in color or not, but when neighbors bought the first color set around, Sunday night was potluck night at their house. Packed living room, watching a 4:3 color show on a BIG console tube set that already had a bit of a green blotch in the lower right-hand corner. No one cared. That was a real event.

I look back at all those shows that I never missed as a kid and they don’t hold up. One show is The Fugitive. Another is Mission Impossible...too many loose ends.
